Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Grey Jedi have continued to fall throughout the setting and are most likely to fall. This is an old argument that some fans have had for decades at this point that the Grey Jedi are the answer to falling to the dark side. The evidence just is not there. Indulging in emotions and being human as a force wielder and not falling to the dark side is wish fulfillment. No downsides, no tradeoffs. I dont buy it.
I think a Grey Jedi Order could work if it's very secretive and careful about who is actually in the order. Not just any Jedi can channel both light and dark sides of the force, that kind of shit will fuck with 99% of the force users out there. However that 1% that remains could probably keep their shit together but they need to be careful. I think if a Grey Jedi Order were to replace the traditional Jedi then they would eventually be manipulated into pretty much becoming a new force using empire as seen in the Legacy comics.

We will just have to disagree. The setting really does not support your assertions imo.
Love has not really solved anything in Star Wars as the setting is geared towards reocurring conflict for narrative purposes.
ROTJ and KOTOR shows otherwise. Quite literally, love saved both Luke and Vader, and even in Dark Empire, Leia's love for Luke dragged him out of the darkness. Meanwhile, the Jedi treating love as the enemy leads to complications that causes people to fall to the Dark Side, especially when these Jedi have no love for the Republic, so the moment they realize that remaining as Republic slaves stunts their metaphysical growth, they leave.

The Jal Shey and Zeison Sha didn't fall to the Dark Side. Most of the evil Dark Jedi we get come from the standard Light Side Jedi Order that treats love as the enemy. That includes the original Dark Jedi who founded the Sith Empire when they landed on Korriban, Exar Kun and Ulic Qel-Droma, Revan and Malak, Phanius and his 50 Jedi Knights, Anakin Skywalker, and Count Dooku. The worst Darth Traya did was train some Sith, but then they rejected her and she defected to the Jedi Exile who killed them all.

The Dark Jedi crashouts from the Light Side Jedi Order that treats love as the enemy caused way more damage than any Grey Jedi I know of. Not even Darth Caedus caused as much damage.

Everything you cited is temporary and Kotor Canon was a hotly debated topic back in the day. Female dark side Revan romancing Carth didnt stop her reconquest of the Galaxy. Post ROTJ new jedi order had many fall to the dark side as I listed previously.

Zeizon Sha and Jal Shey were relative hermits. They weren't galavanting around the galaxy imposing their will and forming attachments. They were living like monks themselves.

Again, personal and romantic love has not really solved anything longterm. Anakins love morphed to fear and jealousy. Luke's did not, but his love towards Vader was not personal love, but charitable love. Big difference.

Actually, there was a cut ending where Carth convinces Dark Fem!Revan to abandon the Dark Side, kill Bastila, and let the Republic destroy the Star Forge, with both of them dying aboard. Also, the canonical ending is male and Light Side, and Revan canonically had kids with Bastila, which is where Satele comes from. So the canon ending had Revan turn to the Light and turn Bastila to the Light through love. Then they had kids.

And no matter how you cut it, Luke returned Vader to the Light through his love and persistence. Same thing with Leia turning Luke to the Light in Dark Empire.

They were Gray and had no problems forming attachments like the Jedi did. They were even more warlike than the Jedi, crafting armor suits specifically for Force-users. They also did not produce as many Dark Jedi as the Jedi Order of old did.

Love saved the Rebel Alliance from the Empire; it saved the Republic from Malak. Meanwhile, the Jedi Order's lack of love for the people they supposedly protect led to many Jedi abandoning the people and turning to the Dark Side when they realized that being the Senate's pawn will not get them closer to the Force. The lack of love and attachment led to people like Exar Kun, Revan, Phanius, and Count Dooku turning to the Dark Side when they realized that the Jedi Order's attachment to the Republic hinders their spiritual growth.

Just saying. Maybe if they actually loved the Republic and had a psychological attachment to it, they wouldn't be so eager to desert it for the Dark Side. Most of these Jedi crashouts cared about higher things, like strengthening their connection to the Force, protecting the galaxy, ensuring order, or making a more reformed political system. They didn't give a shit about love.

Patently false. Has Filoni's Ashoka medallion ever brought ruin to those who possess it? I thought not. Check mate, nerf herder. :smug:
Filoni's Sonichu Medallion is probably not an actual medallion of his own donut steel OC, but rather that fucking cowboy hat he constantly wears.

latest (2).webp

They didn't have Mara Jade wanting to call them Emperor in bed
They also didn't care for the Republic, so when they realized that serving the Republic stunts their spiritual growth, they jump ship over to the Dark Side, because at least the Dark Side has better cookies.
