And how does this judge determine gender identity is real? Is there a way to measure it or check through a CT brain scan? I find it insane how many people believe in the concept of a gender identity and yet nobody on the TRA side can properly explain the characteristics of what a male or female brain is (especially when they told me that male and female brains dont exist). Like are you more prone to liking dolls and dresses if you have a lady brain? TRAs claim that stereotypes have nothing to do with that so then what is it?
Unfortunately most people are not skeptics, they accept the assertions of others. I'm paraphrasing a bit but this is a thing actual studies have repeatedly found. It's not "brainwashing" but rather the fact that most things don't actually matter so it takes effort (or some intrinsic nature of self) to not just go with the flow. You see this in other studies of social behavior, it's just easier and less stressful. As someone who has been accused many times in my life of being
too skeptical those studies confirm my biases and therefore are airtight. I also think it is related to "trendy rebellion" where you can obtain more seeming cachet from rebelling against a nebulous faceless "dominant" other that itself is a form of conformity.
Just to use a politico-cultural example because of this being Tony's thread, look at how both Republicans, Democrats and everyone else use the same framing of themselves against The Man to where Tony can tweet about Biden having his back and also how there's a giant genocide going on and he can't even travel to Florida or Montana. He's trying to be both the most popular kid
and an oppressed rebel at the same time. The inconsistency in the story simply affirms it and works with others because none of this really matters so few people are "triggered" into noticing his contradictions. Most people are either deciding to believe it in the moment and forget what Tony said or they're completely ignoring him. This is why pundits of all stripes are never held accountable for being constantly wrong about everything. We're inclined to give them benefit of the doubt unless we're "too skeptical." It also fits with our cultural narratives, that you're the unknown average everyday hero who rises above the odds to topple the bad guys and be cheered by everyone because your personal quest was really a quest for everyone. Tony's trans clique tweets the same as the MAGA grifters because they're selling this same story to themselves.
Except I can turn this around on you with just a basic 101 understanding of psychology. Stripped from typical social interactions you were able to more easily delude yourself because of the lack of feedback. The "time to ourselves to think" is a bad thing if you're ruminating which is what all of you are doing about "gender" as a stand-in for your insecurities and anxieties about your self image and how others do not share it with you. With nobody around to continue confirming that reality is not your narcissistic self-image you concluded you could easily become a woman because you were spending even less time than normal seeing actual women. Instead you could picture an "ideal" woman who was yourself because you're the ideal person. It's also the typical self-reinvention your type of person does, you believed that you could launch a new persona because the stupid idiots hadn't seen you in a while and would be fooled. You'll make the mistake of thinking I'm saying you did this intentionally, that's the standard defensive reaction we all make, when I'm simply arguing that you did all of this unconsciously because you lack self-skepticism.
Again, you have no theory of mind, and no
skepticism about your own intent and locus of control, so you just reinvented your habits of launching new personas until others finally see the "true" you and like you as they should IF THEY JUST KNEW YOU LIKE YOU KNOW YOURSELF by tying it into an incoherent ur-theory about gender that plays into and reifies stereotypes that should be opposed rather than affirmed. Only this time instead of insisting that you're a doctor to be, or you're the world's coolest drug dealer, or the world's most important Reddit mod, or the world's best political pollster, or whatever reason you got that Grateful Dead tattoo, you're insisting that others see you as a woman because you think the "ideal" woman should be treated as some kind of sacred species that dispenses sex. At no time did you have any skepticism about your own ability to simply "identify" into something that's not solely in your control in the first place and could simply assert it to others who would accept it. It was entirely premised on once again fooling the rubes with an act that would grant you to the key to all the 10's panties.
