I think the point even about the 17 year old is disingenuous at best. A 17 year old is not a child and there's not much at all different between a 17 and 18 year old, it's the old meme of "she was only 17 years and 364 days old you sick fuck". I think in that particular case of him being a young actor there was an implied or else from a seasoned industry veteran. In general acting like a 17 year old is a fucking toddler is insane, it's creepy and I'd say morally wrong, but at no point is it being a pedophile which is grotesque and unforgivable. People need to get a grip.

American morality is so weird to me. This conflation is actually harmful to actual victims of child rape, the under 15 set specifically. I get it's gross and morally icky but the sane response to these cases is to go by case by case basis lest the very real crime of pedophilia and child sexual exploitation is the next victim of semantic blunting. If a 17 year old and a 7 year old are covered by the same moral framework regarding consent then there's no difference, I think this is why lolicons and other actual degenerates who want to diddle kids go overboard with these accusations, they aren't stupid.
