Something they kind of soured for me is often the creation of female character designs and OCs.

Browsing through sites like Tumblr, I can usually tell whenever there's a cute, sometimes sexy character that's meant to be a fun exercise in creativity and when it's just some pathetic coomer waifu self insert wish fulfillment for the straight male 'trans lesbian' author. They've especially tainted the creation of female characters with certain animal traits (mouse girls and cat girls are the worst offenders), filling the tags with degenerate porn-fueled uwu coomer fantasies. I hate it. Usually there's also a difference between normal 'sexy girl' designs and 'perverted twansgiwl' coomer designs, in that the former is a lot more creative and tasteful a lot of the time, so it's not even a problem with 'the male gaze' or whatever. I had to block so many tags.
