I believe this is the case for many creatives who aren't very business-savvy (which is most creatives), that this sort of situation could easily happen to them if the person they're engaged in business with is a bad faith actor. I personally know writers and artists who could probably be tricked and screwed out of IPs because they just don't understand the business side of it. It's scary to think about that all it takes is one person who does understand business making a conscious decision to completely fuck these people over and they have no recourse because they just got outmaneuvered. The only real solution this is for creatives to either learn business or pick their friends very wisely. I don't know Daxipad well enough to be able to say that Maddox could have totally sensed he was a snake if only he was looking for the signs, however based on what Maddox says and shows in his video about the whole debacle it does seem like the signs were there. Maddox's problem was he was a normal relatively trusting human being.

You don't even need to make sufficient commentary for normal people to look at this and come to the logical conclusion that Dax convinced an autistic woman to abandon her family - whose personal family life he publicised for content on his show - and connected her with his own producer who manages her social media presence, and to afford their living expenses turned to OnlyFans. She is below average intelligence and struggles to function by herself, so it's highly likely Riley was the person to suggest she start doing OnlyFans and being autistic and lacking a support network (since she's not in contact with her family), she said yes. That reads as textbook exploitation.

In RPG terms, Dax is a tank. He can draw aggro really well by goading others to attack him and he can soak up damage just as good. Now, however, he went on the offensive which is not his strong suit.
