Vaguely related but Ashes Hard Reset, the third installment in the Ashes total conversion series, has been released.
Has some really good maps so far(the first level alone is absolutely wonderful) but a seemingly large number of people are mentioning that map 6(cordon) may have a buggy trigger for its alternate route.

This is now the current response after getting dogpiled by Yahtzee's fanboys, pretending to be all diplomatic.
And some comments about the Selaco devs from Duke4 randos, turns out the devs were in contact with nu3DR and the latter gave them banlists of their critics.
Why did the retro shooter scene had to be this incestuous and faggy, i just wanted to shoot things.

I don't think they get Yahtzee's schtick. Even when he likes something he will still take the piss out of it. That's what he does. You don't seriously watch his videos for in-depth detailed game reviews, you watch them for the entertainment.
Also, the GZDoom forum is a notorious far left soy bogland hive mind of despair. It used to be cool but it was slowly taken over by the usual suspects.

That comment about how "highschool-ish" the old school shooter communities can be hits the fucking nail right on the head. It's so sad seeing many old shooters I enjoy totally fucked by having small loyal communities of the biggest faggots on the planet who don't care about the game at all. It's just some fucking tiny pond where they have power in their little mean girls clique. Except they're all 30+ year old losers, not teenage girls - though you could be mistaken for thinking otherwise based on how they act.
A buddy of mine who used to do Quake 3 exhibitions and tournaments actually had them lose alot of traction when an admin of the main quake discords told him he can't advertise, talk about, link the stream or videos, or post the registration of any event he is hosting unless he agrees to ban players they personally don't like from joining his open registration event. These players they wanted banned weren't cheaters or anything, they were just people the admin personally didn't like and wanted to remove every possible place for them to play Quake 3. My buddy didn't concede and a shit ton of harassment and ensued towards alot of the new players he had brought in who were having fun learning the game and eventually people just lost interest no matter how hard he tried.
I've rambled on about this in other threads, so I'll spare it here, but one more funny observation a friend of mine who got into Quake about 3 years ago made was this.
You'd think from the stories you hear about how hard and skilled old school shooters are, and about the reputation of friendly/non-personal trash talk that these games have - due in no small part to John Romero's trashtalk reputation - that these Quake 3 players who stuck around are battle hardened veterans who can take some friendly ribbing. In reality, they're the most sensitive passive aggressive pussies he has ever played games with. They'll spend the entire game doing nothing but really passive aggressively whining in chat about how "if *some* people wouldn't do X, then maybe we could play a *real game* of freeze tag" and shit. They'll sit there implying it's everyone elses fault, never call anyone out directly, leave games partway or just start feeding then claim they're done for the night because it's clear we'll never get a "real game" in. If you ask for advice, they'll ignore you, tell you they have none (while implying it's all your fault they lost), or the advice they give is to stop playing with them and just play with bots.

Actual fucking children who don't actually want to see any new blood or life in their game at all. Like territorial little dogs who peed here after all the big dogs left. It's been a long time, but I kinda recall the Natural Selection 2 guys being similar towards new blood, though maybe they've gotten better.
The Quake 1 players are chads though. They're super friendly and usually down for anything. Only problem is that there's seldom enough guys around to get more than like 2v2 at best

It's not just the Retro shooter mod scene, its every mod scene for older games. Take Fallout NV for example, great mods back in the day, now its a cease pool of trannies with the backing of Nexus mod managers. Most if not all mod devs move on from games, but only the pathetic ones stay for some reason. Over the course of time, these same modders will begin talking to other modders who are stuck in this weird nostalgic time bubble, communicating through Discord, joining these exclusive mod servers which always has an page dedicated to coomer mods, or just straight up porn.
Another Fallout example would be the mod "The Frontier". While the mod itself was stealing ideas from other games such as Wolfenstein and MGS, it also came with degenerate fetish shit fucking an Deathclaw or that weird foot fetish scene of one of the underage companions. You bet your ass that one of the modders that helped with it was a tranny.
Even Doom has its fair share of degenerate mods and drama. HDoom is an big example, or that WAD "my house" where the big twist is gay faggot shit, which is stolen from "Gone home". My favourite piece of drama that gets swept up is the Dev behind "Brutal Doom". That whole drama is too long to explain but its just ego and nigger behavior.
