That’s because industry that used to pay well used to be leaning to the right like oil and gas, business owners, etc. Now there’s a deluge of bureaucrats making six figures, renewable energy management that depends on gibs and tax breaks, diversity consultants, etc.

A diversity consultant making $150k a year twenty years ago would’ve been a barista or some other inane pink collar job making $30k a year. There’s a lot of affluent leftists that owe their high standard of living to the leftist orthodoxy and will consistently vote for the left wing no matter how much they make or pay in taxes.
