Pictured are the 2000 groypers locked out of the event.
Having worked in events, this is the most suspicious part of the story, Firstly, you don't need 100 people to setup a stage with lighting and AV. Second, it's not his team with his gear, it'll be his team setting up hired gear. Or a bunch of events temps doing it. Either way, being locked out sounds like a lie.Story seems fishy. Money changed hands, contracts were signed, then hours before the event the venue calls the police to kick them out and deny them access to retrieve their own equipment?
Why would the venue not allow the event runners to clear their gear out? It just creates extra work for the venue to have it all set up and sitting there taking up space.
For that matter why would they have called the police to forcibly remove them in the first place unless they'd turned violent or made threats or caused major damage to something?
There are a great many details being omitted here and I'm sure they're really funny. Hopefully we'll learn them eventually.

I think they would have a better chance of getting arrested for public disturbance . Downtown is pretty safe and locked down. Not much nigging happens there anymore. Its way nicer and safer then a SF or NYC.I was legit hoping some drive-by incident would happen because I can't believe these people would be chanting "America First" and throwing roman salute in broad daylight Detroit.
Yeah, that's what I thought too. Hell, even those Dashcon jokers didn't get locked out when the hotel realized they hadn't paid in full yet and brought it up during the convention. And "hey you didn't pay us!" is far more offensive to a convention venue than "one of your staffers called the hotel manager a nigger."Either way, being locked out sounds like a lie.
Looks like the Exodos Lounge to me.Some footage of what someone is claiming is the VIP afterparty:
