I think it has to do with how people like him view hobbies.. Rational people would be like what is this going to cost me to start? Ok a pencil pen some paper and a book 40$ boom done! He's the rare I know i'm going to need this so I'm going all in on this hobby. And his drawing skills suck balldos! It takes years to get good by drawing for hours each day. And you will get told how bad your art is all the time. He could not take either time or heckling of his bad art to improve.
