Something happened between 2020 and 2021, whether it be the HRT, his medication set, bullying from the emulation scene, or a general mental health decline. He'd gone to Null to beg to have his thread removed in exchange for Byuu giving him $100,000, but Josh was extremely hesitant to accept the money because he believed it to be a form of extortion, and wanted to talk to his lawyer about it. Overnight Byuu reportedly killed himself but nobody believed it because it wasn't listed on the State Department or the Japanese government, and because a lot of the details seemed fuzzy to a lot of forum users. This was until someone finally got a FOIA request and confirmed that Byuu did in fact kill himself.

Basically (as far as I know) byuu was a very well known and good emulator developer (also a furry) that had very poor mental health. When his Kiwi Farm thread was created, (it was about drama he had with the emulation community), he replied to that thread thanking them for the “wake-up call”. KF users replied by welcoming him and being positive. Then byuu said on KF that he was having “real world issues”, and deleted all of his accounts. Few months later someone who claimed to be byuu emailed Null saying that “if you delete my thread you will get $120,000, if you don’t then am going to commit suicide and blame KF”, Null refused that offer, and well he did just that blaming KF on a Xitter Thread and killed himself.
