the military already rejects recruits who are found to have extremist views. they call you up, you tell them how much you hate niggers and jews and trannies, they are no longer interested in recruiting you.

This is the part people forget about. Unless the United States is invaded directly and it's all hands on deck, the bar for being excluded as an extremist is at an all time low.

I’m not even opposed to the draft in principle. This isn’t pol. Also a lot of people here are likely too old to be drafted and have a ‘get fucked Zoomers’ mindset.

Not just how far they are getting in military technology and developments but their populations I would say are more nationalistic than your average western country.

That is assuming Israel's goals is just Palestine only. Sending a bunch of pampered zoomers in a hot conflict with supposedly 700k troops that have rotated their forces and experienced conflict with NATO intel backing and weapons is just fucking brutal when those that have died before you had atleast some patriotism or nationalism as their reason to fight. I doubt there will be a proper war with Russia or China directly purely because MAD still exists (if war still happens then God help us), however another forever war in bumblefuckistan is still in the realm of possibility, which at that point it would likely turn into a Vietnam type of slog trying to keep control over the territory of a barely functional puppet government.

Something vital to note is that the Ukraine war has been the first conventional war where both sides are using modern technology since Korea, where modern Western militaries were used to having overwhelming material and technological advantage to stomp that 14 year old with an AK or that tank that has been outdated for generations, where a small specialized force worked fine instead of the massive armies needed in the world wars of past and the Ukrainian war of present. Part of me is wondering if this is sabre rattling to Russia and China or if they anticipate recruitment levels dropping so low that they would need a draft in order to decapitate the aforementioned government of bumblefuckistan.

The US Military has been unable to meet its recruitment goals across the board. Someone at the Pentagon did the math and realized that we'd need to do one of two things: Downsize the military and cut down on the global outposts and slim down to a more realistic size, or institute the draft to make up for the manpower shortfall. Considering the drum-banging in the media for the past few weeks, I'd imagine that they're getting ready to pull out the latter option.

In some ways, this is even more grim than if they were planning an all-out war. This is another symptom and sign of the degradation and decline of our society and Civilization. If young men are unable or unwilling to stand up and serve their country, then they have lost faith in it.

They should have done this decades ago. Having 600-900 bases all over the world is a huge expense that the US has never been able to afford. Its also lead to comical things like decimating the bomber fleet to maintain airlift.

I actually support the female draft.. as long as the unquestionable official dogma is that there is no difference between the sexes.. and weaponization of the legal/political/social system based on it..
