Does anyone know which MATI episode(s) Josh discussed the AVGN book. I think it might have been more than when were he went over his decline in quality.

This is heavily overestimated, I make a living off of YouTube Shorts specifically, here is how much money I made off of one short with 2.3 million views (More than F1nn5ters most viewed short at 1.7m)

It is entirely possible he runs the channel at a loss, but I doubt it still, as the long form videos will for sure earn enough to justify it's existence, though not nearly as profitable as his Twitch, which doesn't have the prerequisite of editing, or effort.

IMO The podcast race gets weird because if you have a scheduled show that isn't just an update/news/new thing of the week show, then there is so many times you can just state your political stance, and it slowly gets more and more weird from isolation. Like Josh's show is basically a news show with literal news, new drama, lolcow updates, Jim's show is a news of monumental fuck ups, mine and my cohosts' show was a book review show.
A show can have politics but if it is just politics it becomes memetically isolated and starts undergoing meme evolution with no stresses from the community around you.

That video is the reason why I was trying to find that episode of MATI. That video was extremely bad. It’s extremely pretentious and is far too long. I already posted my thoughts here but my main point was that it was complete bullshit when he said that AVGN was never good and that people just grew too old.

After thinking about it more I realized that at no point in the video does he mention that James Rolfe is clearly intellectually disabled despite him reading his autobiography. He tries to frame him as some sort of incompetent hick stuck in his ways instead of someone who is just simply retarded. It makes me feel like he is either just as autistic as James and didn’t pick up on that or he is deliberately being malicious and left it out. If it’s the latter it would be pretty ironic because he tries to frame Rolfe’s haters are just misogynists and heckin transphobes.

Anyways that video might be and interesting topic for the stream.

I still like Morrakiu. I check in with his telegram https://t.me/s/morrakiu from time to time and I pretty much always like what I see.
I'm not sure if he still does the Merchant minute but the latest one I could find is only a month or two old since it talked about the Israeli offensive in Rafah that took place in early may.
