He's made another one responding to the comments (including the various TF2bers that showed up).
like i said people keep responding to this as if the game is dead and buried and everyone should move on, which i agree with. my problem is valve doesnt agree with this, because it clearly thinks the economy is worth the investment and must make some semblance of profit. either shit or get off the pot. shut down all official servers and declare tf2 dead. if it's not worth updating it's not worth making new crates and cases for, but if it is worth the latter then just make one last update reinstating quickplay

Steam has been a broken app forever with tons of broken and forgotten features that get stealth patched out or have new bugs introduced randomly that never get fixed.
Add to this list the 'recently played with' tab. Been a feature of Steam for years at least for source games that are supposed to directly communicate with steam when you're in multiplayer. And entire section of the Friends page that just doesn't have any use anymore because I guess they stopped updating it. It just stays empty regardless of if you've been in a game of TF2 or not, haven't checked other source games but I'd imagine it's a commonality. You now have to manually search for other players if you want to communicate with them outside of matches, it's ridiculous and has likely killed off more of the actual community building aspect of TF2.

That would explain why the "videos" portion of profile uploads straight up doesn't work... despite it being a fucking requirement to complete the fucking community badge. I even contacted support about that and got told "check this blog for updates", and the fucking blog hadn't been updated for over a year.

Needless to say, they weren't too happy when I pretty much told them they're a fucking useless retard and only succeeded in wasting my God damn time. I know a support monkey has little control over that, but they're a part of the machine willingly, I'm giving them just as much shit as I would give anyone else in this lazy ass company.

I never thought the day would come, but after 11 long years I'm done with TF2.

I miss the golden age of TF2 so much
2013 wasn't a golden age at all. That's mid 2008 (Badwater release) - mid 2011 (F2P update), with some people arguing that TF2 began to die after Mannconomy released.

L4D2, the dead end game with zero paths of profit, now gets more regular updates than TF2. What in the fuck are the priorities here, how do you look at the game you regularly threw out for $0 to $1 and the $0 game with a money printer attached and go for the former.

Seems like bothosters are hosting CP now. Old news or actual news? I dunno I don't really pay attention to the community.

But It'll be a little funny if it actually takes Federal Intervetion to get valve into fixing TF2. Though this feels a little deliberate, could it be a #FixTF2 sperg breaking the law just to get valve to start paying attention to the game?
Those hackers get enough attention from the constant seething from the community. Noone can logically stoop this low, since it only brings trouble and not funny reactions.
How does sending a bunch of faggots and furries my email for a petition save tf2? Especially when they failed 2 years ago?
Nothing. But you can be a victim of a gayop. "Hey did you know Sam and Max aren't only just good old friends but that Max really loves having that dog in him?"

L4D2 can receive updates because its a small inconsequential game that doesn't have same complexity and horrible code as TF2.
JAIZ and his trannies can fucking ruin L4D2 with The TLS and everyone on the community can continue playing like nothing happened while those vets can cope and sneed to the previous version.
For TF2, valve fucking something up with their cashcow will have those mental patients trapped in the asylum called "TF2 community discussions" have unfathomable nuclear meltdowns that I could not even imagine or comprehend unless I see it for myself.

TLDR: Valve can spare atleast one employee to fix L4D2, but not with TF2. They attempted something with the f2p no chat system and see how that turned out. This whole debacle needs a whole team and Valve ain't sparing none due to other prioritized projects.

Edit: Seems like I posted on the Offtopic games thread instead of the community watch one. Fuck

This was brought up a few pages ago, and personally I think its fake. We've only seen the one screenshot of the alleged chat messages, and it isn't above TF2 players to false flag shit like that to try and get what they want. If this was real we'd see at least a few more screenshots or videos of this happening, people going to the profiles of the bots posting these links, actual evidence this is more widespread, but so far the only Images I've seen have been the one used in that video.
(Correction: This was brought up in the TF2 Community watch thread, not this one.)

i checked the pics that faggot on that video didn't even bother to post, and lo and behold the first screenshot is from the same retard that got debunked by this kiwi
and the second one is a deleted tweet from some random retard.

How is this bullshit quickplay going to help with the bots? Oh wait... What is this McNigger saying?
2:15: "...and because of [quickplay redirecting to community servers] it was actually a lot easier to deal with problematic players as there is significantly more administration, moderation and security"
Problematic players? I thought it was about bots and other technical stuff related to how matchmaking works? Then he gives examples of community servers it will match you with: Skial and Uncletopia. Two big networks which closely monitor your every single move with strict policies.

I don't trust any of those community™ projects and won't be using them. It's all owned by a clique of power hungry trannies and faggots. You just know they will instantly blacklist any "problematic" servers, too. It's similar to megafaggotbomb's "anticheat" where he smugly gave ultimatums left and right without even having a working prototype. It's all about power tripping and control, not helping the game.

Problematic players
Anything the Team Fortress 2 community touches turns to shit, while I'm at it here's (Archive) the so called "Requirements" for server hosts.
I mean surely there is no way this won't be abused to shit.

The funny part is that someone already attempted this a while ago, and teamwork.tf's attempt was completely forgotten about, why shouldn't I expect this attempt at reinventing the wheel with "third party aggregation aka matchmaking lite" to go absolutely nowhere and be forgotten in a few months.

I mean there's a nugget of truth here. It will solve the bot problem, for people who use it. Bots actually showed up in 2016 when MYM dropped and Valve killed quickplay (and pubs in the process). Valve cant afford to have moderators on every server, but quickplay spread the load by matching players with community servers run by independent people who had the time to carefully monitor and manage a single server. MYM killed this by making Valve servers the default, and of course since Valve doesn't have moderators surveilling every server (nor would anybody expect them to) the bot and cheater problem is exacerbated.

MYM actually killed TF2. If Valve had dropped TF2 after Tough Break instead of Jungle Inferno the game would still be playable, because matchmaking would still filter out bots and cheaters... instead they decided to fuck the game (and foot the bill! Running servers cant be cheap). In addition to literally being the root cause of the bot problem, MYM also made playing TF2 a chore. You used to be spawned into a map with a 45 minute timer, and in the last 5 or so minutes of the game you got to vote for the next map. And in the event that the same map was picked, the timer would simply have another 45 minutes added. No waiting 1 minute in an end-of-game screen, no waiting 1 minute for the server to reload THE SAME MAP, and no waiting 3-4 minutes for the pre-round timer. If you add in queue times and the setup timer, that's easily 8-10 minutes of waiting before a single shot is fired. GTA Online loads faster than that. On top of that, they removed the ability to switch teams, to spectate, or to even fucking speak to the other team over voice. They crippled TF2, pissed on its face with the half-assed and frankly, boring "update" that was Jungle Inferno, and left it for dead.

It's just gross. It's irresponsible and its childish. Valve's model of a relatively flat heirarchy with desks on wheels allows them to do pretty awesome things, because developers who are motivated and working on stuff that interests them get more done and do a better job. Games like Half-Life and Portal don't get made at EA or Blizzard for a reason. By the same token, that model results in the neglect of the menial "treadmill" work. Tasks that are dull and mundane but still fundamental and important are neglected and shelved for more interesting, exciting stuff. Like a kid with ADHD getting bored of his homework to go do something more interesting. Things go to shit when nobody does basic maintanence. That's why TF2 is unplayable, because there's no adult leadership at Valve. If there was a single grown-up executive at Valve they would say "Hey, this game is still making money, but more importantly its a product with an active economy and playerbase. We owe it to our consumers to do basic but substantive maintanence (at the very least) if we want these people to continue to patronize us in any meaningful way". But no, it's all petulant billionaire children who look at delivering and maintaining a functional product, which is the foundation of running any fucking company, let alone one that offers live-service games as boring "treadmill work". What a disgusting word that could only be conjured by the minds of immature babies who've spent a lifetime clicking keyboards and staring at a blue screen. You know what else is treadmill work? Maintaining Steam. But Steam makes billions of dollars and not millions, so it's actually interesting then.

Valve needs to sell TF2 to a compitent and passionate developer with the structure to treat it well in its "sunset" years (TF2 is a game that could be active and profitable for another decade and a half if it had regular major updates and did some community outreach - it's artstyle has a universal appeal and it's one of the few hero shooters that did it right, and on top of that the characters have incredible chemistry and personality. Kids and adults alike love the game now, and TF2 content still gets millions of views. Imagine if the game was actually playable and modernized its UI and settings and matchmaking) without getting bored or tired of it.

TL;DR - Fuck Valve, Gabe Newell is an obese faggot with a buried penis

This is just a web front end for the server browser, you can filter for all of options stated with the server browser. These external systems are completely unnecessary as the problem of "how do I find a game to play on" has been solved for decades, it's called the server browser. You have the ability to add a blacklist, so you could just make a shared file with every "malicious" server IP. The absolute lengths people will go to not use it.

Will be dead and forgotten in a year like virtually every community project, Faceit, TF2 Classic & the million other source mods, Teamwork.tf, Botdetector, etc.

Nothing beats Valve servers when its played how it is intended (no bots), and these retards know it, just more desperate reaches for grifting & content.
