3D Blast will always have a special place in my heart just from the Saturn/PC music alone.

Had a 3D Blast Windows 95 disc that got more use out of my music players (portable and stationary at the house) than it did on my actual PC. Gene Gadget, Panic Puppet, and Rusty Ruin are the catchiest shit I've ever listened to, even now.

the OG genesis soundtrack fits the vibe and stages better in my opinion as good as both soundtracks are. I'm glad a good number of them got remade in later games. The intro text cutscene/panic puppet theme in particular was really well used for the space go-kart section in adventure.

I kinda wish the original opening jingle got a remake like nearly every other song in the genesis OST of this game has at this point. At least there was the demo tape that got found and released a few years ago with the test version of that from before they put it into the final game.

Ten minutes of gameplay footage. You've got Green Hill from the main campaign and what looks like Final Chase from Shadow's, with a bit of Radical Highway thrown in at the end. According to Twitter, the level also mixes in parts of The Ark (the level from Shadow's game) and Crazy Gadget.
>tfw this is the closest thing to a Shadow the Hedgehog remake I'll probably ever get

Even if we did get a remake it would be awful if Black Doom's stilted dialogue is anything to go by. It's not the same without the cheesy voice lines!

Is it the same Goku voice actor voicing Black Doom again or is it just another member of the main cast putting on a raspier voice? It doesn't really change anything, but makes it slightly more funny.

I had the PC version as a kid, it looked and sounded great. Good memories for sure. Shame the Flicky collecting isn't very fun, it was close to being a good idea because it's not far off from the concept of collecting stars like in Mario, just executed poorly.

It's pointless to argue about how 3D Sonic 3D Blast is when the legendary game Sonic's Schoolhouse came out a month before it, making it the true first 3D Sonic game.
I actually had and played this a ton unironically as a toddler, parents got it for me when it came out. some of my earliest computer memories by myself were wandering down the stairs with my dog and booting that up. I had graduated from some reader rabbit baby or preschool games or something and then it was sonic schoolhouse and those Disney interactive storybooks.

coincidentally Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog used to rerun on Disney channel late as fuck at night back then and I never missed an episode. my mom worked in real estate and did shit from home so she kept weird ass hours so I did too as a little guy. We had this giant table as a desk in our basement that had two computers and her fax machine and printer on it between them and I'd sit on one and play sonic schoolhouse and shed work.

when sonic schoolhouse years later became sort of infamous online I was like damn I thought I was the only person who even knew that existed. eventually my dad got sick of following me downstairs to watch me play that shit and showed me how to turn on duke nukem 3d and how to play it and told me not to play it around my mom lmfao

unless you were exactly like me and a small kid really into this, you wouldn't expect it but sonic school house goes pretty hard. you'd think that game is like for little tiny kids but I swear to god the fact I played it so much as a 3/4 year old I think it was single handedly responsible for me being kind of ahead in school. Pretty sure sonic taught me the concept of multiplication before i was in kindergarten

Happy birthday Sonic, Congratulation on making the most austitic fanbase ever. Cheers to another year of shit (mostly the comic).
Should we sperg about what we hate most about the IDW comic (and possibly the other Sonic comics)?

For me it's probably the massive tonal whiplash, especially in the earlier parts of the Archie Comics back in the late 90's/early 2000's. We're talking characters being tortured and heavily implied to be killed while at the same time being 3ft cartoonish midget furries. It's not like i'm going to single out Archie either, the IDW comic is somewhat guilty of this too with stuff like the Zombot arc.

Neat, mad respect to the devs for bringing him back finally after all this damn time.

(X) Doubt

Pokemon, Mario and MLP have it worse. Especially MLP.

I sometimes lol a little abit the archie charcters that die and even tho it was cringy there was stakes. In Idw it was confirmed that the deadly six were actually murdering people (confirm by ian out of nowhere ) but idw sonic responds with this:

we went from a sonic that stops the villain to this steven universe moralist shit. Shit like this gets defended/glaze as good writing lol.

Please tell me we aren't gonna get some Batman and Joker tier shit later on in IDW's run.

Archie for all it's flaws and lows always felt entertaining to read, even penders shit, but IDW feels so sterile and lifeless a lot of the time
archie's world actually felt like a world that was alive, seeing mighty return later who was training to be a monk or eggman's old badniks working as security for honey the cat and ect, IDW it's really hard to give that much of a shit with how safe it is

I'll give Archie credit in that they were willing to expand on Knuckles and his world and the inhabitents of the floating island in general. Even the Chaotix got more love than they did in the games.

How it went is a completely different story. I checked out when Knuckles was having "the talk" with his dad.

Sonic Shorts 9 just premiered, 11 years after the last one. A few parts got a laugh out of me like seeing Bluckles at the family reunion, but overall I thought it was pretty bad, definitely the worst of the Shorts. It was mostly just unfunny bits that dragged on for way too long with the art and writing somehow being more amateurish than the ones from the 2000s. Any thoughts?

I argee with that it just seemed very bland and i didn't know it was happening till the day it came out.... dragging jokes, Unfunny Repetitive references. Tranny animator at 18:18(no joke). They really picked up any animator for this. Did it really need to come back? No not really.
