So the colonies are picking a new govenor general or whatever they call them to replace the kenyan fellow they had last time.

The choice this year is between a ginger tax dodging democrat oaf and a reptoid dynastic politician up to her neck in lies and corruption. As ever the contest between red and blue has been riveting, with much grabbing of pussies and hiding of emails.

We have a thread charting the campaigns but the big day deserves its own thread.

Y'know, Hillary also screwed herself with the whole shouting about how Trump wouldn't swear to accept the results thing. It meant that even if she wanted to do Election 2000- Part 2:The Comedy, it would've given Trump endless ammo about how she swore to accept the results.

Thank fuck, because I didn't want to go through recount hell again.

I've had to unfollow like three people on Tumblr because they won't stop with the doomsday talk.

Like, they seriously seem to believe that LGBT people, Muslims, Mexicans, and women are going to be stripped of their basic human rights. In a political system where deadlocks dominate and it takes fucking years to get anything done. The Founding Fathers established our system exactly because they were afraid of one person or one group having too much power.

Also tbh I'm not happy with a Trump victory, but I wouldn't have been any happier if Clinton had won. I just hope this is the slap in the face that the American political system needs to get its shit together.

I disagree. There are women and then there is Clinton. Clearly Clinton is too emotional for politics.

I thought the opposite was true. Clinton always came off as completely cold, like a living anodized cog. Everything she said came from an elaborate electro-mechanical relay system, rather than a heart. If you took off her pantsuit, you'd find reals of punch cards, continuously updated with focus-group tested data. She was unlikable because people have a inherent sense to detect the unnatural, and Clinton falls into the uncanny valley.

I don't think Clinton was too emotional to speak. She either stroked out (extremely likely) or was so brash as to not have a speech written (extremely likely as well), and she completely lacks the ability to speak off the cuff.
