Found the most deranged troper argument ever on the Helluva Boss/General Hellaverse cleanup thread and it's just turned into a baby match between th3wr1t3r and Spacecoyote with other tropers busting in every now and then and mods sit back in horror, like this shit needs to be animated at one point.

Vivziepop may be a lolcow, but the shows she creates causes people who talk about her shows to turn into lolcows as well. Must've inherited that lolcow aura from Chris.

I hate these fuckers so much it's unreal

Okay I generally stay away from the behind the scenes stuff and just like to laugh/groan at cringe YMMV entries. What the fuck is the deal with the Complete Monster page having so much apparent drama centering around it?
The short version is that people were constantly trying to apply it for characters that didn’t fit the criteria, like Peter Griffin and SpongeBob characters, so a cleanup thread was created to approve or reject entries. Unlike other cleanup threads, there’s more steps involved since examples have to be vetted, approved, and then written up.

At some point, the thread became insular and unfriendly, so much so that even the mods eventually told people to cut it out. I recall one incident where a couple of thread regulars got temp suspended because they were caught by the mods talking shit to others in PMs.

Middle school bullshit.

All of this just because some people didn't get characters they wanted to be called Complete Monsters? That's some of the most petty bullshit I ever heard, though I guess I'm not too terribly shocked.

The very nature of the descriptor is bound to cause these petty disputes, and it feels pointless that it reaches this point anyway. It's not even that hard to make simple yet strong criteria: character is evil, they have committed numerous atrocities without an ounce of regret or justification, and their actions are played completely seriously in the story with it clear that they could never be redeemed even if they tried. It should be for characters like Palpatine, Sauron, or the Joker, and trying to find a way to squeeze every character into it simply because they pass the theoretical point of no return degrades both the concept of a "Moral Event Horizon" and the existence of complete monsters

Well it's one of the very few pages that actually has some QC going on. So, naturally, all the autists are trying their hardest to break in and ruin it through sheer misunderstanding.

Perhaps it makes sense to make the trope name more generic to avoid confusing people, but it still reeks of the bored janny behavior to change a name by mod fiat instead of vigorous debate on merits of tradition and demonstration vs ease of use.
Yeah I mean off the top of my head better names would be like....
Once Bold, Now Basic.
Original Yesterday

Yeah sounds like the drama was a confusion between what is supposed to be within the story vs how the audience feels about them. Just because you feel like a character is a complete monster, doesn't mean they are within the story.

Or gee, maybe queers remain a small minority because that's how natural selection works!
