With Ian’s it’s his first girlfriend and he has huge Daddy issues. Whatever therapy he’d going to is not addressing his issues with his father and probably his mother. She is about as likely to break with Nick as Ian is to break with Anisa. The similarity being that Kayla and Ian both gain virtually nothing by being in a relationship with a narcissist, but they seem to prefer being treated poorly and have no moral values. They are identical, just fortunately Ian and Anisa probably won't have kids (unless/until Anisa needs a new way to get attention).
Kayla’s whole relationship with Nick was based upon deceit. Nick “lied” about being gay to get close to her and then got her on the rebound when she was at a low point. The stability she had with Nick was probably why she stayed. The kids kept her busy for a while, but eventually those creeping thoughts bubbled up faster than the meds could keep them then down.
