I'm a massive Kenganfag, & I assure you everything written in that article is retarded. Kengan has turned into a massive shitpost since a long while. Literally every fan of this manga adores this part, while shitting on it.

And while despite the there's some fans who want to (understandably) fuck the twunk fighters, the manga is not faggy in any way possible.

I get that their endgame was to discuss fanservice and romantic subtext in anime, especially when they could not help themselves to talk about the “subtle” things that you see in yaoi and yuri relationships.

But this just seems like an immature conversation that I would expect to hear from horny teenagers that never knew how to speak to actual crushes without having to remind the read every single second about how much they’re into the “yaoi” and “yuri”-style way of romanticizing unrealistic relationships.

Just an FYI for those who don't watch YoruKura (Jellyfish anime being talked about here). It's not trans by any means. The best way I can explain without spoiling is that it's like a guy having a hot female avatar in a game makes him "trans".

I completely agree. I liked Kengan a lot and even the Dumbbell spin-off, but the writer is beyond autistic in his review of the series. He finally caught up with the second season (since he had to watch everything leading up to the Baki crossover) and dropped this retarded gem:

That is true in a way, her story is that of an energetic tomboy who happened to be into geeky shit, was shunned by society (the Stacy type girls at her high school) later for her being a girl who's into geeky shit, which turned her into a neet. She uses her V-Tuber persona to be herself in that way.

TL;DR - A good character sub-story of identity crisis, self-esteem issues, & coping through over reliance of a coping mechanism with help of homies, is being colonialized into troonism due to westoid mental illness.

It's the same goddamn thing that happened to Zombieland Saga cause Lily was a trap idol & wore pink & white socks once.

OHMIGOD yes, exactly. It's crazy that people didn't pick up on Lily's mom looking just like her. IMO Lily crossdressed so she could like her mom to cheer her dad up. Lily is also a child actor, "Lily" is just an character she uses. (I'm using female pronouns here to refer to Lily, not Masao.)
Anyway who dismissed Lily's mom's death and the acting bits missed two crucial parts to her character (besides her dad).
Also my attention has been wanting on Yoru so thanks for the accurate summary.
