Dr. Disrespect permanently banned from Twitch - Turns out he was a groomer

I still see some people asking why Twitch didn’t go to the authorities. Keep in mind, and this was an issue To Catch a Predator had back in the day, is that in many states discussing a meet up even with NSFW messages is not enough to warrant an investigation or arrest. If physical meet up occurs then they are more likely to take action.

Any question like “why didn’t Twitch” is because their lawyers didn’t tell them to. That’s how those companies operate. They use the fuck outta their legal counsel.
With Doc's newest tweet, I think it's less that, and more of an axe to grind after the fact. If we accept things as they're presented as true; Doc was talking to some girl in 2017 and adult things were discussed. But it took Twitch all the way to 2020 to get rid of him, I don't think it was them being correct, it comes off like someone had an axe to grind and finally found something they felt was strong enough to be actionable. And it's three years for a chat where nothing happened; that's not time to build a case, that's most likely they didn't know.

Right, but here's the part I do not understand: say how you presented it is true, how did Twitch staff find out the individual was a minor?
The easiest solution (or at least where I would start) would be to check their own dms to others; you've already broke protocol and are riffling through one person's dm history, just do it to another's. Our target "X" was being hot and heavy with person "Y," let's dig up dirt on person Y and oh look at this, right here on date/time they said they're Z-years old.

I feel this is also the question to how quickly do we throw him in the woodchipper. Did he know before or after, and did the conversation change once it was found out? People want to be mad that he did it, by all means, not gonna stop you; but he says nothing happened from it, but he did talk hot to an underage. Just need to clarify how this shit lines up and then we can determine whether it's head or feet first.

So, now that he's basically admitted it, can we also ask why Twitch didn't report someone they knew was a predator to the proper authorities? I mean, money, yeah. But Twitch now has the unenviable position of explaining to people why they didn't do anything about someone they knew was trying to lure a minor through their platform. This is going to raise a lot of questions for the site as a whole like "how many other cases do we not know about" and "what else is the company trying to hide". Me? I'm McLovin' it.

That still doesn't absolve them of any wrong doing, it happened on their platform

Doesn't this create the question of "they lied to get use of the whisper function to start with, who says they're not lying in that particular DM"?

I'm not a lawyer, it's always possible. But I also remember old Twitch, where the rule was no one under... it was 12 or 14. And you'd have kids be like "I'm 11 years old, check out my Minecraft!" That's definitely something for Twitch and their investigation team and legal team to come to a conclusion over.

More pressingly, they used this to kick one of their top earners off the platform. We should reasonably expect Twitch to carry out such tactics and methods on all their users now, especially as they try to espouse progressive ideology and safe space shit.

This is why more info needs to be released, im sure stuff will be published soon regarding this to save either twitches or disrespects face
In my book there is no saving this guy, it's just a question of if he should be put into a woodchipper for being a pedo or being set on fire for being adulterous on Twitch of all things.

I'm glad I waited before passing judgement. However he has admitted to a portion of the allegations, like people have been saying before me. We can't be sure it was anything criminal or what Doc's definition of inappropriate is. I am still not comfortable accusing him of being a pedophile unless more info comes out, but he is definitely suspect.

All in all I don't think we'll ever get a concrete answer here because both parties can be on the hook for some serious allegations if that info comes out.

I mean…do you ever wonder why ppl act like this is court? It’s like when Armie Hammer’s sexts came out and some people rushed to defend his cannibalism fetish because “it was just a fantasy between two consenting adults.”

Well, I can still think it’s a disgusting act of a deviant that I don’t want to see in movies anymore. In the past we rightly shamed people who acted unacceptably out of society.

And what Dr. Disrespect did is worse than that. There is 0 excuse for a dude in his 30’s to be sending any casual chat messages to a teenager, much less ones that “veer into the inappropriate.” I don’t care if he skirted the letter of the law just enough.

I, like a retard, registered my guess as to what happened in the wrong thread an hour before Dr Disrespect made his post (I had this thread and the Tipster thread both open).

Based on what Dr Disrespect said in his statement, I was so fucking right lol.

Here was my post:
I'm registering my guess as to what happened based on the evidence available. Not highly confident in it, but I do think it best explains what happened.

Here are the facts:
- Clout-goblin ex-Twitch guy makes the claim the Dr. Disrespect had inappropriately texted a minor and was planning to meetup with her leading up to a convention.
- Dr responds on Twitter with legalese stating "no wrongdoing was acknowledged".
- Twitch has kept the reason for his ban for wraps for 3 years and has not confirmed anything.
- Twitch paid out the rest of Dr's contract.
- Dr on stream seems sad about the current events. Not indignant or angry. Not firmly denying things.

Here's my theory:
Dr Disrespect did in fact message an underage girl leading up to a convention in an inappropriate way. However, he was not aware that she was underage at the time. Twitch on the other hand, was aware that she was underage because of user data. The victim does not want to press charges against Dr. Disrespect and does not think he did something wrong (or at least thinks it wasn't bad enough that he should be legally in trouble for it).

This theory explains a few weird parts of the public details that are available. Why would Twitch not report this to the police and why was Dr not brought up on charges? If the victim would not cooperate, this would make prosecution hard. Even though adults have a duty to not communicate in sexual ways with minors, and if he was prosecuted there was a chance he would be found guilty, it would still be difficult.

Twitch however had to do something, they couldn't keep Dr around on Twitch because of the potential public backlash if it came out that one of their biggest streamers was talking with a minor on their platform. So they banned him and agreed (after negotiations) to pay out his full contract. They also probably knew that if it came out they were actively spying on user communications (something I think people have not focused on enough) they would look really bad.

Dr. Disrespect knows he did something wrong. Not "fucked a 10 year old" level of wrong but "you definitely shouldn't have been talking to your fans sexually especially when you also had a cheating scandal and holy fuck it's also a minor" level of wrong. This is why he isn't aggressively denying the claims. He knows the claims are true, but also not in the way that the attention whores who are reporting it are saying. I wouldn't be too surprised if this caused him to quit streaming for good.

I don't care about this guy at all, I'm completely indifferent to his guilt. I've just been thinking about it and how the public details don't completely add up in terms of what's being reported and how people have acted and are acting. This is the story that makes the most sense to me. It should be said that I'm not trying to argue what he did wasn't wrong, adults have a legal and moral responsibility to not talk sexually to minors, even if it happens on accident. I'm just looking to understand what happened, and I think this story fits the best with what we know.

This shit is still confusing. So did he knowingly sext a minor or did he find out she was a minor later? Cause one makes him a pedo and the other makes him a retarded coomer. Why did Twitch only care years later? Who are these ex employees and why are they pissed at Dr Disrespect and/or Twitch? This is all half truths, people with an axe to grind and covers ups. I dont know what to believe.
