I was one of those "we need more proof" people from the start. Now that he's basically self-reported, I say we throw him to the wolves.

Also, Stardew Valley fishing sucks. #crabpotmasterrace

You're the second person who equates adultery with high chance of illicit relations with a minor. What the fuck? I know both are bad, but they're leagues in distance in terms of being bad.
Soliciting people for sex is what adulterers do. When you try and fuck your fans and you're a twitch streamer, odds are 90% of them are children. It's common sense.

Doc's admission is disappointing. Looks bad for Twitch and Doc. I don't think we have enough info to call him a pedo but he was definitely being unfaithful to his wife. I'm fiending for more details but we might not get them given the legal eggshells both parties might be walking on.

Things I would like to know:
  1. Did Twitch sit on this for three years, or did they get pissed at him for something and dig through three years' worth of Whispers to find ammo to give him the boot?
  2. How old was she exactly? Nine or 17?
  3. Was Doc aware she was a minor?
  4. Did he shut down the plans to meet in-person after discovering she was a minor? Has to be the case if the second scenario in #1 is true, since they didn't meet up.
  5. Did his wife know? Is this the adultery incident he confessed to on stream?
  6. How bad were the messages? Was he being kinda inappropriate in-character (earlier Doc was a lot more vulgar), or was it sexting? Did the fan flirt with him and he reciprocated, or did he send her Destiny-tier simp messages?

I'm also surprised by his claim, in his wall of get-ahead-of-the-narrative text on X, that he plans to come back to streaming. That is NOT the tone he left his most recent stream on. Something must have changed his mind.

I get the feeling whatever they caught him on was enough to make everyone look really bad ("One of the BIGGEST streamers on TWITCH caught using the platform to inappropriately contact MINORS") without stepping into actual criminal territory, and they decided to basically pay him to fuck off and try to bury it, especially more incentivized if it was discovered by them actually snooping into users' personal messages. Regardless if it didn't reach a point of actually being criminal, dude's a fucking middle aged father and (afaik, still) husband hitting up jailbait in DMs after having already being caught cheating once. I can never in a million years imagine giving that the benefit of the doubt.

Money.

Do we really know that the other party was a minor besides, "Trust me bro" ? And also, it's a fucking conversation. Also, how old was the minor? That's the thing that's missing. If the aforementioned minor was 17, then this is a nothing burger.
Would you let a 38 year old man exchange risque messages with your 17 year old daughter?

Never forget that the Rainbow Coalition on Twitter were giddy at the idea of a minor being harmed so they could "own" their political enemies.
They hate people who disagree with them more than they hate pedophiles. It’s why the allegations were so suspect. I believe if he didn’t self report he could’ve ridden on the fact that the accuser is a scorn schizo.

Man I was really hoping that this was a complete nothingburger but just from the pattern of this behaviour which apparently is rampant among online influencers I couldnt bring myself to completely discount the allegations. Im starting to lean more towards the idea that practically all large online influencers are complete scumbags in one way or another.

Man I was hoping this would be some false shit that the Twitch faggot made up for clout.

I say throw both the Doc and the twitch faggot into a wood chipper.

The total death of Twitch, and all social media and streaming platforms, cannot come any sooner.
This shit was happening pre-internet just as much if not more, you just didn't hear about it because there was no paper trail. If anything social media had reduced how much this happens because people have to think twice about doing things in an age where someone can pull a phone out in seconds and record proof or post screenshots of a conversation.

Is it a good look? No. It's pretty bad. But we have yet to see any actual messages. Like, how far into "inappropriate" were these messages? Also, have we even got confirmation that the minor in question was male or female? Was this a 17 year old boy conversing with Doc, and Doc would make off-color comments like "damn did you see pokimane's tits in yesterday's stream" or was this legitimate sexual advances? I'm extremely hesitant to crucify someone until I can see hard evidence, especially in this situation where accusations have gone to court and lost, and there's been no criminal case.

One of the reasons it possibly lost in court, is because per Doc, this happened in 2017 and Twitch kicked him out in 2020. Now if we continue to believe Doc, nothing happened; I.E. "I did not hook up with this person at Twitch Con." The questions/details needed to separate whether there's a woodchipper or a wall in the future is; did the talks happen while Doc knew the person was underage. He was already caught fucking around on his wife... one moment, need to check something.

Going by reddit, the cheating on his wife scandal also happened in 2017.

And going by Google search results, it all came out in December of 2017.

And Twitch Con 2017 was in late October.

This isn't a defense, and I'm not saying this what happened; but what are the odds, he had several people in his dms asking to meetup, and he took the ones who weren't underage. This doesn't excuse his shit behavior, but if all this shit happened in 2017, what are the odds it's connected?

Edit: As someone who used to hit the con circuit in my younger days, I'd be lying if I didn't say there were girls of questionable origins selling themselves to get rooms, parties, alcohol etc. Not defending it, but we have to admit that conventions and shit aren't some wholesome holy ground of social meetups and fandom; the con floor may be cool and wholesome, but lots of shit happens in the hotels. If Twitch wants to control what people do on and off their platform, they have a lot of fucking work to do.

For fucks sake, man, don't be pulling out the Ephebophilia card. I don't think it needs to be stated that him messaging a minor is 100% dangerous no matter the context.
