Any updates about that E-mail shit /biz/ was doing?, did it succeed in tackling the indian botshit problem.
4cuck eased up on the email policy, you can post without one now but have to wait 15 minutes for the privilege. Or pay gookmoot.
According to 4stats.io /biz/ has been averaging ~5000 posts per day for the last month. Definitely an improvement from the ~2000 it was getting under mandatory email verification but still a significant drop from what it was before. It does make me wonder how many posters would come back if mods removed the email shit entierly.

Ehhh, some would come back, some wouldn't. That's what happens when you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes.

What would you guys say was the death of the site?

I only ever really frequented /b/ when I was a teen, and a bit of /biz/ before it was all about crypto shilling, so my opinion on the state of the website is quite biased.

In my own view, the /b/ board died as soon as they took away raids and people started to realize it was not longer niche enough to share really fucked up but funny OCs (like tattooing a drunk dude for example). What was left was trannies, cucks, fags, voyeurs, loli and all kind of degeneracy, no fun allowed.

I have checked it out from time to time every 10 months or so since then, and it's basically dead.

When it comes to others communities on 4chan. I am sure anime, vtubers, gamers and such still have somewhat of an interest in being there, idk, I've never been there. But for every other board, there is a superior niche forum, so the chances you would land there organically are low. The chances you would chose to stay lower.

I hate to say it, but moot being increasingly disillusioned with and then ultimately abandoning the site, then selling it to an evil gook with no interest in the site after taking revenge on /pol/ by loading the mod team with troon garbage.

2014. Gamergate, the Fappening and moot leaving were the final three nails in the coffin of 4chan. I think most of the old internet died in 2014 and earlier, as the internet formed this final narrow shape it has taken now where everything looks like it's been formatted for a mobile screen and everything uses the same (circular) sources for information.

The 2016 election. 4chan got massively targeted after it by both big and small powers. They consider 4chan a place where people can get different viewpoints and opinions and that cannot be allowed.
This is not just me speaking out of my ass. Theres been reports of orginizations etc where they literally admit to subverting discussions on 4chan because of hatred etc etc.

Twitter and reddit banning people and entire communities en masse during Trumps term is probably the worst thing to happen to 4chan. Whenever some 12 yr old gore spammer or a clueless boomer got banned from social media for chimping out is 4chan where they ended up in.

Project Chanology was the first cancer cell. That was the first time when "internet is srs bsns" stopped being a meme and causefags started using 4chan as their soapbox for their goals. That event set the precedent for every other happening and political shit influx that would happen later on.

Chanology, for the first time, changed a section of 4chan from a place where you could go to take a break from the real world to some battle ground for the current thing you had to do something about. It was "SRS BZNS!!!", but somehow for real.

The cancerous growth that later spiraled out of control might have started much earlier, had it not been for moot's disinterest in politics, which led him to shut the whole thing down.
