As far as I'm concerned, George's biggest mistake was trusting Kathleen Kennedy not Bog Iger.I am not defending George because he really should have known better but IRCC Iger proudly admitted in his book that he was playing on George’s fear of getting old, and how he had no apparent heir to the franchise. Bob Iger is a manipulative POS that groomed him by playing on his fears.
To be fair to George Lucas he probably expected Disney to, at least, try to make a good enough product even if it was soulless like then MCU. Nobody was expecting for things to get this bad. That they would actively try to sobotage Star Wars for the sake of ideology, without even caring about profit.
But don’t get me wrong, I agree. George really made a big mistake. He is a grown man and with all his years in the industry I did expect him to be smarter. He was too trusting and too naive.
