"Mad at the Internet" - a/k/a My Psychotherapy Sessions

Josh has a dynamic vocal delivery similar to the audio output of a classical music recording; as a result, he will seem too quiet if I set my volume level based on his greatest loudness rather than his least. I don't think there's anything that can be done about that other than cranking it up on the user end.

Josh needs an audio compressor, if he is to compete in the auditory marketplace with tha ragepig.

ayamaru is the second handle I use in KF.

The first one was completely banned because of 'trolling'. With that first handle, I only suggested a private investigator should visit someone's hometown to gather details.

I became interested in KF when I learned about efforts by troons to get the website off the Internet. I was outraged about efforts by perverts to impede others to freely express themselves on the Internet.

I thought it was great there was place on the Internet in which I could write messages with words such as retard, nigga, or even n*gg*r.

I still think KF should always exist on the Internet. But, should KF be amplified by Google or other search engines?

Would that fix the packet loss problem or just even out his voice?
The latter. It’s like when you’re tuning around radio stations. The local commercial stations always sound a lot louder than something like PBS, and that’s because they have a compressor turned up to max. Even though stations are limited to the same bandwidth.
That being said, I’m not convinced this is the problem, Josh’s voice is, if anything, a fairly flat profile so if the gain is set right he’ll be intelligible.

I don’t know what the packet loss issue is. It shouldn’t be due to starlink, I use starlink extensively and don’t have that problem - it does drop out completely sometimes but that would be a different problem.

In that case, I don't think a compressor would fix anything, since on the user end, I would just experience "loud MATI," which I can achieve by hitting the volume. Obviously I disagree about the profile being flat. Maybe I'm the only person who hears it this way.

Streams sound like shit on my car speakers, and when I turn on something else I have to halve the volume bc it's really fucking loud. I'll be cranking up Null and he's all loud, but I still struggle to make out what he says.
Not sure what's wrong with his mic or whatever, but it's always been muffled with too much focus on bass
If you're going to give feedback like this you need to clarify where you're listening because there's the live output, the recording, and then the mp3 for rss. I cannot do anything with this information.

I have no idea what changed between this stream and last stream that has caused literally dozens of people and the entire live chat to start flooding me with complaints about volume. I have OBS open, I check to make sure my voice is in yellow when talking, and I talk. It honestly feels like some deliberate effort to gaslight me because I've not changed a fucking thing about my setup.

Download the catbox mp3 file above and play it on another system (phone, headphones, whatever). It is super quiet for me.

also, as discussed previously, my setup is the very memetic Sm7b (-59db) + Cloudlifter CL-1 preamp (+25Db) + FocusRite 2i2 3rd Gen (which has a 48V button I need on to register any sound). I observe that my peak is -6Db, which is fine for most people. If I should change anything or do a +6 OBS gain let me know but right now I use raw input after the LAST spack attack where people complained my audio was off.

I honestly fucking hate dealing with it, my setup changes all the time, I do not have an office, I have moved three times in the last year, and I hate fucking with it every single fucking stream and then get told that my setup is wrong by dozens of people who then also seem to find it amusing that I get annoyed dealing with this fucking bullshit continuously.

I was listening to the Rumble stream with closed back headphones, like I usually do. I noted that, when you started talking over the opening song like you usually do, you and the song were at about the same volume on my end. Then, when the song cut, you were a little quieter than normal. For context, I normally listen to everything at around 8/100 on my volume mixer. I turned it up a little and it was fine, then you started messing with it and I had to adjust too (I'm not saying don't fix your audio, only that I was messing with my audio as well to get it right).

I have no idea what the problem was, but I am pretty sure it wasn't on my end. Maybe Rumble was fucked.
