This community has destroyed itself so fast, it's almost hilarious if it wasn't sad.

The community was already really only held together in the sense that a bunch of Youtubers were forming a hugbox to insure they could keep a stream of views on videos about a dying game.

Been listening to it for a while and Weezy sounds like Kermit the Frog after working IT and chugging a whole bottle of corn syrup, now he's saying shit's not "his decision" when he was heading the whole thing, the guy's beyond fucking cooked he's a cucumber tossed in a deep fryer.
EDIT: Richter dropped the BTFO of all BTFOs by calling out Weezy and co. for not being popular and sucking as leaders, deafening silence from pill boy.

Weezy's argument is basically strawmanning Zesty's takes and trying to find a "gotcha" to own le transphobic chuds and to protect his own ego and his buddies' connections with voice actors.
First he claims that financial boycott will do nothing, because revenue loss will be too small for Valve to care. What's better? A petition. He claims that it's all you can get an average player to bother with and then misrepresents Zesty's position on it claiming "you're not going to get people who played this over a decade to cash out!". Even though that was never the goal and the point was to stop buying more microtransactions from now on. It's really that easy and arguably easier than going to some stupid 3rd party petition sites and giving your info out. But then he says that stopping paying won't work either, because there will still be whales... It goes on and on...
He just moves goal posts whenever he's proven wrong. It's so dishonest and pathetic. I think the most dishonest part from him when he asked Zesty "so to protest treatment of Amazon workers, would you stop buying from Amazon?" trying to get a "gotcha" clip. As if it's in any way comparable.

Still struggling through the stream, but anything that would hurt valve financially was likely avoided because it would hurt the bottom line of workshoppers, which every single one of these tf2 e-celebs is friends with. Richter uttered the words "conflict of interest" but made no further effort to expand on it, which is infuriating as it's so obviously apparent that there is not person who is uncompromised, they are all objectively incapable of unbias decisions that could effectively herd the tf2 cattle into making a difference. Maybe that's why the movement was

Just got to "we don't want to boycott because we'd loose our teather through the voice actors". That sounds like a good and rational decision, that is something that would certainly affect the majority of the playerbase.

I hate this "argument" (cope for his MVM gambling addiction) so fucking much. A $10-$20 million dollar deficit is still a $10-$20 million dollar deficit no matter how much a company/corporation is making, it's still a shit ton of money down the gutter. A company that has one of their products suddenly lose money isn't going to immediately cease production and call it a day, they're going to try to amend it before moving to such a drastic and costly measure that ultimately makes the company look bad and their product a failure.
Besides, Valve has clearly shown in the past to care about the revenue TF2 makes given their quick-fix
to the Crate Depression of 2019 and the complete cosmetic quality shift after the Winter 2021 case became the worst selling case in the history of TF2 according to worksloppers (compare the Winter 2021 and Winter 2023 cases, drastic change).

Came up with a funnier idea than any of the current protest ideas that the CS2 side can get in on:
Start a community fundraiser to raise money to buy as many actual treadmills as possible, then get a squad of people cosplaying as sniper and CTs to deliver them to the Valve lobby in person with everyone spinning in circles and saying ingame quotes, maybe assemble a few to walk on them while looking up and down to make it more surreal and insulting. If Valve finds treadmill work hard then maybe they need more treadmills in the office.

Friend of mine just pointed out that there's another fun tactic to use since Saxxy trophies can be destroyed and earlier today someone from the first Saxxy Awards wiped theirs. If the pill junkie doesn't want to implode the market, why not scrap the digital awards since those are pretty much pointless now.
