The Bolivian military is on the streets of La Paz and seizing government buildings. It appears they have entered the presidential palace already.

i have no idea who ruled bolivia or who is trying to coup against them, but military coups are always fun
Some socialist who's been tanking the economy, apparently. Can't say I'd protest much about this one.
My favorite thing about conspiracy theorists whenever a coup or revolution happens is instantly thinking the CIA or the FSB were behind it. Third Worlders can fuck up and ruin their nations perfectly fine with little outside help, they are capable of it.
No one can name one competent thing the CIA's done since the 1948 Italian election, and yet they're somehow able to be behind everything.

Had a friend from Cochabamba, Bolivia when I lived in South America and whenever I'd ask him about Evo Morales or Bolivian politics, he'd just laugh and call him a total loser.

My friend was also from a cholo family (indigenous and quechua speaking) and considered Bolivian government's wealth redistribution scheme retarded and insulting. Cool guy.

Military having to sweep it up again. Lose lose situation.

For those blissfully unaware, Bolivia used to have a coup d'etat every other week at certain points of its history, this isn't unusual. I lean towards the cause being some grievances in the military with some tacit approval from the U.S. and its media infrastructure. It's too early to say anything fore sure, though.
However, the MAS–IPSP is taking back power six months after anyway, if they even get ousted in the first place.
I'll give you a hint
The today's U.S could never. To be honest it's probably a miscalculation from the side of whoever this general is.

In this type of stuff there generally is some minimal involvement from foreign powers, at least from the cold war years onward. But I agree that it's not a CIA operation or anything of the sort.
Right know what we know is that a military unit and a police detachment have sieged the palace of government, and the general has said that his objective is for the cabinet to be replaced.
