Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Found this, a playlist of all six episodes of the Bakshi-spearheaded "adult" animated series for HBO, Spicy City. Amazingly, there could have been a second season of this but apparently the execs wanted Bakshi to bring in a team of "professional" writers, i.e. LA hacks and he refused so the plug was pulled.
Does that take place in the same world as Cool World?

I'm a few episodes in, this series is actually pretty good! Definitely adult HBO material, but it's so cool. That first episode is adorable tbh.

The New Norm Show, "The first animated sit-com on X", ill let its quality & humor speak for itself

This really reminds me of those cartoons you would see in GTA IV and V's TV channels that were clearly meant to make fun of specific political groups of people, but without any self-awareness or being funny.

The animation also reminded me of Gen Zed.

Just more shit to remind us how our world sucks and there is nothing we can do about it.
It feels like a fake show within a show.
SpongeBob Shanghaied raw studio recording, posted here for posterity.

Stuff like this is what makes this site special.

Jesus 95% of the characters are just essentially t-posing in most of the released shots of this shit.
Just standing stick straight with both their arms hanging at their sides with a blank positive expression.
I like how the fat kid is just a mexican version of red herring from scooby doo. Only other saving grace here.

I keep getting recommended this video on YouTube, I'm gonna bite the bullet and finally watch it. Is Milo Murphy b-b-b-based??
edit: lmao the episode is about a man dressing as a woman so he can star in a movie, it's literally a reference to Tootsie
double edit: The comments are all fighting about some random remark the video maker said about asexuality. Gotta love how nothing's ever good enough for these faggots.

You can really tell shows like Mr Birchum or New Norm are made by boomers or possibly even older people because millennials are portrayed as bratty cell phone addicted teens in high school.

In real life millennials are pushing 40.
You either have old coots yelling at clouds like the people at daily wire with crap like birchum or you have "young" deviant cows making rainbow mafia pandering garbage on mainstream animation. Pick your poison there's no middle ground anymore.

There's Gen X-ers who have mentally never left high school.

The thing that gets me about these conservative cartoons is that they ride a weird middle point where things are both too exaggerated and not exaggerated enough. I watch them, and while doing so have this thought in the back of my mind where I think, if they just dropped Vaush or Destiny into this sitcom, it would be funnier than any of the liberal straw men they actually create.

I know I've brought up tuttle twins before but it legit feels like it's the only conservative leaning show that actually tries to be more than just "lol liberals are stupid and we are so much better than them." And yes that show is also guilty of strawmaning, one episode is litterally just constant shittng on Marx including an unironic use of the "real communism hasnt been tried yet." and the "antagonist'' is litterally named Karine and its just a slightly altered pronunciation of Karen.

Even after all that it at least knows you can't just constantly shit on people you don't like an expect your audience to support you.

A bigger part of the problem is that they want to have that "lol liberals are stupid and we are so much better than them" humor, but it is boiled down to a Fox News, milk toast, neo-cuck take that doesn't really highlight the problems. It comes off the same as LGBT humor, where for them, saying Trans is the joke. This is just that, but negative.

I said it in the previous post, but you can easily just take liberal speakers from YouTube and plop them in the show, and it would be 10x funnier. Having characters of liberal consoomers like Bob, "open-relationship" enjoyers like Destiny, or those Only-Fans feminists would give the show more dynamics to pick away at.

It's an okey show (Wierd Al does a great job voice acting the main character and I really like characters Dakota and Cavendish) and I enjoyed that episode. It's about a long running action movie series being rebooted but with women. Naturally the previous male star of the franchise gets fired and he dresses as a lady to try to keep his job. So episode is basically commentary on movie reboots, studios being assholes and Bugs Bunny type of cross dressing. Nothing tranny related either way.

The people whining are the same people who want you to believe Some Like it Hot is not only about trannies, but actively transphobic, when the mere existence of troons was at most a curiosity and nobody was even thinking of troons when they made it.

Povenmire's stuff is pretty apolitical, Phineas & Ferb is of course the best one, but Milo Murphy's Law and Hamster & Gretel are pretty alright too. Kind of surprised Disney lets him get away with not being woke, but then, they have a couple other cartoons that aren't woke either. Maybe they're just desperate for something kids want to watch.

They don't usually need to make creators force woke talking points in creators are more than willing to force them in already if anything Disney wants the creators to go easy on the woke points. Thought not for our benefit. It's so they can air shows in China, the Phillipines, Singapore, amd the middle east.

They want to have their cake and eat it too. They want the rainbows and gay couples in their shows but only just enough to where it's easy to cut it for places where that kinda thing is a no no.

It may be 🌈 to think, but with public opinion finally swaying away from wokness to where even this month usually pride month has been the quietest its been in years its only a matter of time before its not just povemeres work that will be apolitical on the rats network.

And maybe scallops will fly outta me pants.
