Oh, yes, Trump is a very reactive person. It's actually slightly possible he will learn of Chris Chan and backhand him over Twitter, now that Alex Jones and others are talking about it. Just imagine the President-Elect of the USA taunting CWC! Regardless of what people think of Trump, that would be utterly hilarious, and no one could top that. It's quite unlikely, of course, but it's possible.

It would be worth electing him just for that event.

I think the real problem is that Chris is so severely autistic that he would benefit from more social programs and social care.

He would benefit from a variety of things, but he will never do/pursue them voluntarily. He doesn't meet the standard of legal incompetence, so no one may force him to do any of that. He would only be forced to undergo therapy or whatever else that's applicable if he's convicted of a crime and a judge imposes that as a condition of probation or parole.

He's also a hopelessly self-absorbed twit. Even if all of this turns out catastrophically for him and he's literally scared shitless several times during this saga, he will never sincerely believe he did anything wrong. He'll just assert a viciously anti-autistic and anti-trans system bullied him into submission and that all of this was unforeseeable.

So, I was just talking about this to a friend. They said the same thing you did, but I disagree.

Now, I don't think making this post (but realizing he fucked up, and immediately deleting it) is a prosecutable crime. You're right, people are emotional and that factors into these things, generally.

However, I do think they'll investigate it. They'll at least have a chat with Chris.

The reason being, if a presidential candidate were to be assassinated, right around the election would be an extremely popular time period for someone to try, just because emotions are running high and everyone's freaking out.

And also, while there are millions of people out there blubbering about how triggered they are by Orange Hitler, the vast majority of them know better than to outright threaten to harm him. Some will, but most won't. There probably aren't as many threats as you'd initially guess.

So I think the Secret Service will pull in a bunch more people and do the legwork to check into as many threats as they can.

And as @Ravenor and others have noted, this isn't unprecedented. They really will talk to you.

As someone who took criminal justice in high school and college, I easily remember that even if Chris were to say he gonna kill the president, that's still not considered a "terroristic threat", as just blindingly saying, "I'm gonna kill you" shows no means or true motive to carry out these crimes.
