That's been there for ages - even from the start of the original thread that was eventually closed to make this one. I like the subtlety of having it happen only after a while so most people miss it.

I just don't think Trump, Clinton, Bill Gates, etc etc etc were all pdf-files. Like that's a shitload of people on the Epstein list. Everyone is allowed to make their judgement of course. If they actually get rid of him they're punting on this election and hoping to rebuild for 2026.
Mondale went from being on track to lose to Nixon in 1972 to losing literally every state but Massachusetts swapping out his VP. Dropping the sitting president from the ticket come convention day is unprecedented. Democrat turnout would crater, swing voters would hold their nose to vote Republican because at least that party looks to have its ducks in a row.
As odious as Trump is to a lot of the voter base, if the Democrats actually drop Biden I expect he'd pick up 300+ electoral votes even with both coasts spite voting for whoever they replace him with. I'm not even sure who they could find to do it, it's the definition of a career-ender. There aren't enough book deals and private kickbacks in the world to make up for intentionally nuking your political career because you'd be forever associated with the party's lowest low in decades.

I think they expected Trump to interrupt as much as he did during the 2020 debates and that Biden would sound mostly coherent. Instead they got Trump not interrupting that much and letting Biden do the "talking" on his own, letting him dig his own grave live for everyone to see. So now they're either stuck with an old guy who looks like he's really not fit to be president again, or a new person who probably won't have that much support from their wider voting base, both bad positions to be in. I think it'd be bad optics to switch from "the current President of the United States" to "some rando people don't know" as well.

Again, this is just cope, anyone who saw the debate would at least concede that Biden barely said anything worth noting (beyond the gibberish he said as his "answers"). If you're looking at A&N or other news articles, clearly people care about war (Israel and Ukraine), immigration (mainly from Mexico) and inflation (economy's bad and people want hope). I don't think Trump focusing on that was bad, but I do feel he talked a little too much about them, he said "the border" in almost all of his answers which made them blend together a bit too much. And I mean, there's no real reason to talk about climate change/abortions/other topics voters don't care about as much, because who's actually worried about those things beyond the far-left?
