I'm bummed most languages didn't bother with the shitty mic quality when he was screaming.
neg rate me but this is the first time i understood subs vs dubs. Those were all fucking horseshit. The jokes don't translate at fucking all.
he biggest crime here is that they didn't do the Spanish Pim and Charlie bit in English for the Spanish dubs of the show
I'm sure i know what the answer is but is it that common for dubs of american shows to not give the remotest of fucks if not openly butcher the content/context?

I have found, quite by accident, Smiling Friends plushies and merch on Aliexpress.

The show is breaking containment, it's breaching the normiesphere, cancer incoming, if not already here (see @SteelPlatedHeart's post for instance). I trust Zach and Mike and crew will know how to handle things but still, cause for concern.

Of course he’d think that.
Thankfully the thumbnail appears to be clickbait and the actual video was “I WAS ALWAYS RIGHT ABOUT ALL MY SHOW OPINIONS ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE IS JUST A NAZI!”

I feel like the problem with the Brother's Egg episode is it's incredibly funny if you are familiar with the old Russian Homunculus hoax video and Joel Haver (he's the traced over motion capture brother). I can see it just being a random mishmash if you aren't familiar with either of those two entities.

I wasn't familiar with either (well I do know what rotoscoping is so the style is familiar to me at least) and that was one of my favorite episodes of the season. I'll probably go back and rewatch them at some point, but that was one that got a lot of laughts and grins from me throughout the entire episode. Perhaps some of it was that the other parts of the episode (particularly the Jared gag the boss pulled) were good enough that not being familiar with some of the internet deep lore in the episode wasn't an issue.

I think the season was great overall. Even if there were some episodes that I didn't like as much or didn't find as funyy, still had a lot of people here or elsewhere that really liked them for whatever reason.

I only just recently watched the "puppet" episodes from April Fool's, and found myself fascinated by how they recreated all these scenes in 3-D, and also reminded of how ridiculous Pim's dream sequence in Shrimp's Odyssey was, over the top with his imaginings of a happy family, complete with the last sequence referencing the film Bicentennial Man (though Hadel has made a reference to the movie in a video before). Though the puppet version has the even more hilarious imagery of a live-action actress making out with a sock puppet.

I caught this right away. Zach and co. being around my age means a lot of their references hit way better than if you're a zoomer.

Smiling Friends isn't wholesome though. Most of the humor is based on realistic inconveniences the characters have, the Brazil episode is a good example of it. It's closer to Seinfeld than either Rick and Morty or... I can't really think of a wholesome show
I mean their goal is to help people. Which is nice. Although there's a lot of hoops they have to jump through to do it. I do like how it's not always successful or clean.

Pim is very wholesome, and honestly the show often has very optimistic messages even if the setting and supporting cast is absurdist

It may not always be clean, but they’re definitely successful in every episode. That’s why people confuse it with being wholesome: other shows are more willing to callously discard the episode’s goal for a cheap joke, to the extent a show following basic story writing rather than attempting to be “subversive” is refreshing and novel.
