Are videogames for children?

Surprising, but good. Hope they didn't just package mods in and charge for it this time.
 
Kind of want to play a shooter but nothing is really calling out to me.
 
Can anyone explain this to me. I can't stand Counter Strike GO / GO 2's gameplay. When I go back to an old CS 1.6 (and CS:S is quite fun as well) server I find the gameplay to still be as great as it used to be. I can sort of explain it in a way, I think it's because the time to kill is higher in 1.6 so you have more time to duke it out (and it's not due to higher health pools I don't think, I think it's to do with your aim being far worse when moving + bullets costing money), where as in GO you walk around a corner and are killed in 0.1 seconds.

I'm sure there must be more to it that than though, can anyone explain the difference in mechanics?

I assume mr J that you mean an FPS and i know what you fucking mean. It's my fav genre and for what feels like years I am unable to find anything to play other than the odd Doom WAD or other old FPS mod that calls out to me, why is it so fucking barren. (and I'm not interested in procedural generation games). I'm also burnt out on "Boomer Shooters", can we please take from the past and then make something new with it, no COD scripted shit, no see through walls markers or any other modern shit, just take a good old FPS and build on it to make a new experience.

As someone that always wanted to play the originals but never managed to have the time do it, this was actually a nice thing to wake up to yesterday. I could also play the rooms through an emulator, but either way, it’s still a win for me.

It's nice to see these legally available again but it's a half-assed release. The PC port of RE1 is pretty good aside from lacking the Director's Cut extras, but apparently the GOG ports of 2-3 will not be the more recent Sourcenext PC ports that came out in 2006. A fan has already updated and cleaned up those versions since awhile ago but I guess this is good for people that can't be bothered to pirate releases that weren't sold outside of Japan.

Reminder that The Guy Game, a already shitty game that's just built on raunchy material anyways, is more illegal than all the lolicon in the world because...a 17yo is in it and she lied about being 18. Could've been a psyop operation to deter games like that from ever getting made again by making a message about "if you have nudes shown on video games, you're going to involve children because you're a desperate monster that's hellbent on fucking children".... or just someone who wanted to join in the fun of filming this...

Orrrrrr, maybe the people who made the game were just dumbasses who didn't vett their models or footage?

That works well enough., though also the ESRB itself was dumb enough to give it a fucking mature rating despite the fact its full live action nudes.

I never heard of this game before, but I can believe is was a psyop after all the shit flung at BMX XXX despite not having a similar controversy.

The psyop mission being that "nudity in non-porn games will only lead to child porn being normalized/women being nothing more than toys!", and it worked like fucking cobra venom. The ESRB was extremely aggressive throughout the early 2000s, now that I think about it.

XDefiant is pretty good, but any YouTuber that called it a CoD Killer is a fucking moron, esepically with a Treyarch game releasing this year, I think itll do Halo/Battlefield numbers after BO6 comes out, but its not going to sustain its current population no matter what SBMM Schizos say

Sorry for the late reply, missed the notification on it. They probably rake in a decent sum on DLCs which for games like EU4 is basically train sim levels. So whether they neglect these games or not I think most of them do decently. Not like they need to update these games a lot either, they're essentially just board games. So they can get away with it more than other genres where the pressure to evolve is very low.
 
Played the demo for Kunitsu-Gami, and I am pleasantly surprised. Feels like a passion project and something that would have been a "normal" release two decades ago. Highly recommend trying it out.

If I recall, the issue with BMX XXX was mostly with its development, the developer wanted to do another Dave Mirra BMX game that was a little more tongue-in-cheek and mature than the previous titles and Mirra was okay with it, then Acclaim went full retard and added a bunch of strippers which no one was in favor of, the idea was that Acclaim was already on the ropes financially and hoped to save their ass with it.

The end result was that the game wasn't very good, a lot of mainstream retailers weren't having it and didn't stock it, and then Dave Mirra sued Acclaim because his name was attached to it until almost the end of development.

Playing OG Metal Of Honor now. Really amazing game, even with the borked controls (left stick moves the character forward, backward, and lets you look up and down. Right stick allows you to move left, right and look up and down. The port level level requires you to parkour over some crates, which took me a few tries as there's a ton of enemies below, leading to your imminent death). The swastikas are also nice, refreshing to play a WWII game that has the balls to not exclude them.

I mean, it's an actual minor vs a cartoon, not to downplay the latter too much but it's a big difference.
