Yes.

If the fat removal is going to be over 5-6 liters, or if it will take longer than 6 hours under general anesthesia, then staged procedures are recommended. It takes time to recover from surgery so second stage surgery can be performed 2-6 months later, depending on the individual.

May not be skinny yet but I’m sure by now she’s filled with more regret than lipodema fat. According to reviews, with nothing more than local anaesthesia and Valium to dull the pain of up to 20lbs of fat removal, and the resulting swelling, bruising and stitches (from the skin tightening),on both thighs, our girl will be in a living hell while her wounds leak greasy fluids all through her new fluffy blue non-absorbent blankie.

God, that one gave me such second-hand embarrassment, I sucked my teeth with enough force to set any nearby satellites off their orbit.

...She's really, really not going to do well in the post-surgery arc, is she? I can't muster up much sympathy, but I am retrieving my comfiest lawn chair for the aftermath.

I wonder wtf happened that this doctor isn't allowed to use versed & nitrous sedation in his office? He has to have gotten in trouble with it, there's no other explanation, it's not like he's Dr Nick with a practice over the liqour store trying to the keep the costs down.

1. the first step of lipo is pumping liters of saline mixed with lidocaine into the area to be sucked out, this hurts like fuck even with the lidocaine in the bag.

2. The lipo cannulas get clogged with fiberous stuff, it's gross, and how can he possibliy suck out extra fiberous fat lumps with tiny cannulas? He can't, it doesn't work that way

3. It takes a lot of strength to push and batter through the fatty tissue to break it up enough to release.

She's going to be awake for all this and I wish I could watch.

This HAES Snake Oil Salesman surgeon can’t find even one anaesthetist to work with him? Bet he doesn’t carry malpractice insurance either, given it’s not required in California. He, like J’s surgeon Dr Scott Mosser, both probably deserve to be hung, drawn, and quartered…without anaesthesia of course.

I’d love to be able to vacation as much as she can, but doing it in her body would be a curse. Imagine being able to travel all the time as part of your job, but being in constant pain and having trouble fitting in places. That would instantly kill majority of the fun. Half, or more than half, of her vacation time is likely spent in the hotel room nursing pain, sleeping because of exhaustion, or recovering from some illness (her immune system sucks). She could take a luxury vacation to Greece, and not be able to explore it to its fullest potential because her health is so poor. It’s hard for me to feel bad for her though, as it’s all self inflicted, and her personality is abrasive.
