Yeah I've been looking at clips and he definitely seems to "talk" sometimes but only a single word here or there is understandable. Unless he's got significantly more off camera (and don't you think Robyn would be posting if he was chatting it up and saying cute toddler stuff that 3yos do?) I'd place him about the 18 month level for expressive speech. He'd do great in a developmental preschool and given that he seems cognitively pretty with it, I bet he'd progress quick. But I am sure they would not place him something like that in despite that a few years ago they were trying to get Luna an IEP she could not benefit from.
A weird tongue revision could cause issues with how the words sound but not the number of words he has. He should be able to talk in full sentences. Even when she is showing him just playing he is kind of eerily silent. Most 3yos are in the "hey mom look? do you see me? look at me! mom! mom!" phase.
Yeah the keyboard warriors def see speech delay and assume zomg, definitely autistic. If Atlas is autistic I'd say it is pretty mild but honestly I don't think so. His play seems pretty typical. Most autistic kids this age, with all due respect, are much more feral than Atlas. He actually seems pretty mild mannered, which is amazing given that I cannot imagine Robyn has super consistent behavioral management as a parent. A lot of kids do grow out of the speech delay and end up talking just fine but he'd probs do better with a little intervention / time outside the house / in normal society.
"Luna and Oaken." What, is Atlas not allowed to touch any of these?
