Watching KC's Maddox reaction vid and I had a quick question. I remember the first couple of Dick Show episodes being kind of normal and then Maddox released a video that featured Juju saying women should take responsibility for themselves during parties to avoid getting raped that caused Daxipad to get banned from his gay improv group.

So my question is, did the anti-Maddox crusade start before that? Am I misremembering something?

I did enjoy Diddler Dax's interview with Oddguy (fun fact Oddguy shouts out Null in the interview) but that was mostly Oddguy hard carrying with his deep lore about Encyclopedia Dramatica.

Oddguy's video 'The rise and fall of Maddox the loser" was an early exposure to the lolcow world and the "sektur". That video is a little hard to watch in retrospect because it glazes Dick a little much but I listened to the biggest problem and enjoyed Dick on the show.
I know I am not alone on this where I don't like Dick and Maddox on their own but I felt like they worked well off each other. Not to mention Juju is so hypocritical, I listened to the dick show early on and stopped really early I think I made it to the 60s. Dick shilled for bis bonus episodes which were all about exposing Maddox and I thought about buying them and boy am I glad I didn't because Dax has done everything he ever claimed Maddox did.

thats what i was forgetting. i thought there was something else besides the feed that i just believed dick on. what did dick actually say? because i remember i dont think anyone saying maddox was out of line for dropping it ever showed the actual clip. which in retrospect should of been a massive red flag and with his other shit makes me think he probably said basically "rape is good actually" or some such shit.

edit trying to find this clip and all the small low engagement discussions from even back in dicks heyday really shows to me how irrelevant all this is, idk how he seemed to have so much more clout and reach than he actually has.

That is correct it started out with Dax saying it was "creative differences" that broke up the show, and personally I thought it was very strange how The Biggest Problem in the Universe ended with only Asterios and Maddox with no mention or thanking of Dax when everyone else was thanked as per the description here:

Well this is it, what may end up being the biggest problem in the history of this show, the problem nobody wanted or saw coming: the end of shows. Sometimes shows run their course, and this is one of those times. After 107 consecutive episodes, this will be the final show for The Biggest Problem in the Universe. When we took a break 2 weeks ago, I had every intention of coming back to regular episodes today. Unfortunately that can't happen, but we're going out with something a lot of fans have requested for a long time: the full intro song at the end of this episode.

Also, we have a brief cap at the top of the show with the ever-boisterous coconut, Asterios. The final episode includes a problem from the most-downloaded episode in the show's history: Well-Intentioned Idiots, and a fan-favorite guest, Ryan Holiday. We go over the final tally of problems and solutions and reminisce about the show. When I first started this show, I created it as an experiment to see if people would vote on these problems week after week. It turned out to be wildly successful and highly scientific, so it's an element I'd like to continue in other podcasts I work on. And speaking of...

The show ending abruptly like it did and the lack of public response from Maddox really made everyone jump to Dax's side, that and the cancelling attempts (of gay nothing LA comedy groups) with the rape list and the out of context podcast clip really soured fans and created way more hostility. There was also weird shit like the podcast feed, and stuff exploded with the lolsuit where Asterios and a ton of other people who had nothing to do with Daxipad's podcast or fanbase were included. (If he hired a better lawyer and only sued the correct people maybe it wouldn't have been such a disaster lolsuit and Rekieta wouldn't have a streaming career to self destruct)

It Maddox had not been such a fucking autist and just said publicly what happened then instead of almost a decade later the good will of the fans would not have been with Dax. Maddox is majorly at fault for trying to do stuff behind the scenes and refusing to say anything publicly because Dax was just able to run with all of that with no resistance. Maddox literally didn't even have to interact with Dax, all he had to do was give his side of the story and fuck off to do his own thing.

FYI it is in this video where the clip was, and it was this video that started most of the anti Maddox hostility and massively boosted the Patreon numbers for The Dick Show.

I think that Kino Casino got it right where Maddox was just an autistic guy who thought that Dax was genuinely his friend, when it turned out that Dax was just clout chasing hellspawn from LA that can form no genuine connections with people.

My memory of the timeline
2012: the "pilot" episode of Biggest Problem is recorded
2014: the pilot episode is released and the show begins
Late 2015: the wedding (Dax drives home with 80s girl, who Maddox has been broken up with for several years at that point), followed by episode 77 which Dick wasn't on
May 2016: show ends, both Dax and Maddox start their own respective shows
Late 2016: the Maddox "rape list" video is released (unlisted), properly instigating the feud between the two and allowing Dax to air all his dirty laundry on his show

So yeah, it did kind of kick off after that video.

I never paid much attention to the Dax and Maddox thing at the time because it just seemed like two tryhards acting like faggots over Internet drama. Seeing it all laid out though (even counting its from Maddox's side) it's clear that Dax was the biggest fag of the two. Maddox was a retard the way he went about that lolsuit and he was stupid to ever let a guy that was obviously an obsessive weirdo like Dax get close in the first place. Especially letting him handle all the accounts.

You'd think Maddox, a guy who was a huge Internet celebrity for decades, would know not to deal with obsessive Internet stalkers or fans. But even still, it was beyond clear that Dax's entire existence is directed at skinwalking Maddox. It's really fucking creepy and sad. And it's not like Dax has moved past Maddox—he keeps Marie as his perma-girlfriend purely to pretend that he's stepped into Maddox's shoes, and he still talks regularly about Maddox for his show/patreon. I don't know how anyone thought Dax wasn't a pathetic loser all these years.
