As far as how serious: it is jail. Every tiny thing people do in jail can matter to the other inmates. Any little thing that could possibly be taken as a slight by someone can turn into physical violence. There is a constant state of looking for weakness in other inmates, and paranoia about not letting anyone get away with something that makes you look weak.

Short answer: very fucking serious. If someone borrows something, or owes you, and they don't pay, it makes you look VERY weak.

Obviously, this isn't 100%. Some people will just refuse to loan you stuff, or gamble with you if you get a reputation for not paying debts, but the only ones who will deal with you after that are definitely the ones who will stab you over owing them a pack of ramen.

I am not as optimistic. You see, if Rekieta and Bossmanjack are locked up for years, who is going to deliver quality content?

What we need is for them to have a traumatising time at the courts only for them to get a slap on their wrists and for them to learn nothing and screw themselves up for our entertainment.

Though I do hope that they are physically removed from their loved ones and other innocents.
