Being real, he's been pretty enabled. He's never been rich as a Youtuber, but he's had a consistent audience that puts up with his bullshit and gives him views. What he's doing is career suicide, but I guess he wouldn't know that, since the last "real" job he had with a actual boss was at a grocery store. Like 20 years ago.

He is deluded if he thinks he can say "I don't argue in bad faith and I'll BAN YOU if you say I do" and keep his money coming. His cash flow is about to take a hit.

Part of his current arc has been that he believes he is actively avoiding "audience capture", aka when your audience influences your views, usually resulting in a spiral to more extreme ideas as you try to appease them. His idea seems to be that by being a whiney and argumentative baby it makes audience capture impossible, and thus he is more virtuous in his views and argumentation because he was not influenced by his pesky audience.

That's not even what it means to argue in bad faith. Arguing in good faith means both parties bring a point of view to the table with the understanding that one of them will adjust their position to whatever the "truth" appears to be, regardless of what either side believes beforehand. It means both parties listen to each other with intellectual honesty and humility.

It means you don't act like a stubborn asshole like Dev always does.
