One of the biggest lessons people learn politically is that there are some political conspiracies and some people do have an epic 15d chess move, but 49/50 times their fellow man is just fucking stupid. Elected officials are more likely to be in the 4D chess realm, but if someone isn't in a government career itself and is blathering hard about politics, then they're likely stupid.
There are only so many smart people in the world. Even then, people can be great at one field but blind in another (Alex seems to just be fat ans stupid though). And since politics is a "tribal"/"team sport", sometimes emotions will get in the way.
He isn't malicious in that he has actual plans or wants to see the world burn, but malicious in the childish narcissist way, where he lashes out at others as soo as his ego or feelings are hurt and can't control the situation. So, short sighted emotional anger and volatile rather than a long term planner.
On one hand, the lowering of active malice and decrease of worrying about your fellow man plotting against you is nice. On the other, worrying that your species as a whole is capable of making bad choices more often than you realize out of sheer stupidity and you have to trust these people not to accidentally fuck something up is a hard pill to swallow. It is a bit of an existential crisis on how humanity made leaps and bounds but still can be dumbasses. I think classifying it as something out of your hands is best, and choosing to do the best you can, support others who aren't stupid, and live laugh lolcow at people like Alex here is the best play.
The earliest writings in Mesopotamia and various Roman & Egyptian graffitis have documented that humans have been dumb for a long time and have survived still. Take that as a comfort.

AC is just one of many bouncing and squeaking about the SCOTUS decision in the most hyper-partisan way possible. I've seen others labeling the court as a corrupt Pro-MAGA group, for example.
Funny thing is, if SCOTUS ruled the other way, these people would be lauding the decision and insisting everyone else respect the court and it's decision(s). This is yet another example of, "We like SCOTUS... but only when it rules the way want want it to."
Sure, there is some partisanship on the court in that presidents nominate justices who then get confirmed by a partisan Senate. At the same time, though, justice and rulings need to be as apolitical as possible. Looking at the bigger picture, not having immunity at all would lead to all sorts of frivolous lawsuits that don't deserve to see the light of day. Also, I think most people are overlooking the likelihood that conduct that is outright criminal could still be prosecuted because an argument could be made criminal acts are not and should not be official acts.
Aside: AC wanting Whitmer to run for president is laughable. The moment she announced candidacy, smart opponents would likely run attack ads showcasing both her ridiculous COVID lockdown rules and the time her husband asked a business for preferential treatment during the lockdown. That's the complete opposite of the "Nobody is above the law," stance these people like to trumpet.
