Crime Chris Watts, who murdered wife and smothered his little girls as they begged for mercy, lives in fear of fellow inmates: ‘They want to kill him’

Chris Watts is in a hell of his own making as he serves a life sentence in a small cell in at Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, Wisconsin. He hardly talks to anyone, instead choosing to read his Bible — and to ponder the wife and two young daughters he ruthlessly murdered in 2018.

The Post has spoken to three people who have had contact with the 39-year-old killer behind bars — and they all say that he lives a sedentary lifestyle, has gained significant weight, and has lost most of his hair.

What’s more, the triple murderer often avoids eye contact with other inmates for his own safety. When he attends Bible studies, he often keeps to himself and doesn’t talk to new people.

“A lot of guys would like to get their hands on him,” said Eddie Nieves, who spent a year at the prison alongside Watts.

“He killed two little girls who didn’t do nothing to deserve it. He’s the lowest of the low at Dodge. A lot of people want to get their revenge for those girls.”
Watts admitted to strangling his pregnant wife Shanann in their Colorado home in August 2018. He then drove her body to a job site at the oil company where he worked and disposed of it.

He returned home and then smothered his daughters — Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3 — as the little girls begged for mercy.

After he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, Colorado prison officials arranged to have him transferred to Wisconsin for his safety.

Watts killed his wife, Shanann, before smothering daughters Celeste and Bella. O'Connor “They protect him at Dodge,” Nieves continues. “If the guards weren’t always around, everyone would take a swing at him.”

Those sentiments are echoed by Watts’ former cellmate from 2018-2020, who said that Watts is often in danger behind bars.

“He’s an outcast,” said Dylan Tallman, who worked on a yet-unpublished devotional book with Watts. “When people found out that his victims were two little girls, they wanted to kill him. He had nowhere else to turn; I think I was his only friend.”

Authorities said Watts committed the murders because he was having an affair with Nichol Kessinger, a co-worker who would later claim that she thought he was already separated.

“Every day, he thinks about what he did,” Tallman said. “He has photos of the girls and he prays for forgiveness every day. But he knows he can’t undo what he did.”

A spokesperson for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections said that Watts has had no scheduled visitors for several weeks. He occasionally receives a pastoral visit. His mother visited him earlier this year.

However, Watts has several prison pen-pals, mostly women.

Dylan Tallman was Watts’ cellmate in 2018-2020. Wisconsin Department of Corrections “At times, when he would talk about the murders, his eyes would turn so black,” his one-time pen pal Cherlyn Cadle told Inside Edition in 2021.

“He just would get a different look on his face, and he talked about it so nonchalantly, like going down to get a cup of coffee.”

“He’s f–ked in the head,” added Nieves. “When you’re in prison with a lot of guys who did really bad things, but you’re still considered the worst person there, you’re just evil.”

Let's hope the faggot one-way trip to hell comes very soon.

We don't have to

Is this real?

Sometimes I wonder if the murderers are weirded out by these women. If they think, “yeesh, clearly there’s something wrong with this woman”

Or if they’re narcissistic enough to think these women are totally normal and just see how great they are

He also wasn't somebody that said that murder (or rather, an execution) should never happen under any circumstance. In fact, let's ask Him about those that hurt children and expose them to sin:
He who is without sin throw the first stone, if you are a murderer and torturer you dont get to judge others for doing it.
And stop using the bible to justify your own cruelty, Satan.
Executioners have existed since the dawn of man, they literally have one job
They were hated social outcasts, including their children who had no option but to become an executioner themselves.
See thats another thing, why should others do your dirty work? Do it yourself and bear the consequences if its so important to you, faggot.
Yeah, cuz wishing it on a child killer is exactly the same as condoning it for everyone. Sure.
Yes it is

The Watts family murders happened in Colorado, which has the death penalty, but his wife's family asked that the death penalty not be brought forward. He also took a plea deal.

Note: His wife was 15 weeks pregnant as well, with a little boy they were going to name Nico.

He's serving his time in Wisconsin for his own safety - the Colorado inmates hate him even more and I have a feeling the cops there would be more than willing to look the other way.

What's the story behind the murders? I need to know more about this guy to hate him more appropiately. Altough killing a 3yo and a 4yo makes that very easy to understand

EDIT:

Talk about getting ninja'd
There is like a bajillion documentaries about him on YouTube, the most famous of which probably being the JCS videos on him:

The case kind of got milked to death by True Crime YouTube, but it’s somewhat understandable since it is an interesting case to analyze. One of my favorite videos is this analysis by a psychologist (which is a good watch even if you already know the case):

One of the interesting aspects of the case is that Chris himself personality wise is a very boring individual. He’s like a generic dad character you’d see for one of the side characters in a movie, which is what makes what he did all the more disturbing. One of the things often talked about is why he didn’t just divorce his wife, and the most probable reason is that Chris was such a sociopath that he essentially wanted his family completely erased from existence so that he could start a new life with his mistress, something that wouldn’t be possible with a divorce what with all the divorce hearings, debates over custody, etc. Of course you can’t just erase your family from existence, so despite his efforts the police had the case figured out in like a week.

I understand the reasons behind not wanting extra-judicial punishment being outsourced to prison inmates, but I find it hard to care in this case.
Controversial opinion: The thing with this line of thinking is, that most people would agree with the self-imposed "criminality echelons", where a bank robber, a drug trafficker and a burglar think they're somehow better than a child rapist or in this case, a family murderer. Where one crime is objectively worse than the other - "yea I robbed banks and shot a few cops, but at least I didn't murder my entire family, you fuckbag".

ALL perps are scum, period. Their "b-bb-but at least I don't diddle kids" narrative is just cope, to try and somehow make themselves look better than what they are.

, if you are a murderer and torturer you dont get to judge others for doing it.
Well, I'm not either of those things, so..... that means I do get to judge others for doing it.

And I see no moral conundrum arising from legally-sanctioned execution after a fair trial. To me, it's not any more problematic than using lethal force in defense of your own life is.

Butchers and tailormen were in the same condition, and it is understandable that you don't want to be near the guy that kills people for a living. It is creepy, even when the guys getting killed deserve it, and that's without taking into account the paranormal aspects of the proffesion.

See thats another thing, why should others do your dirty work? Do it yourself and bear the consequences if its so important to you, faggot
Because I don't have the legal right to do so, and also because most individuals react badly when commiting these actions. The best example of this was some Wehrmatch soldiers on the Eastern Front, even SS units, who, despite fully believing that their targets deserves it, became sadistic and mentally scarred. You need to be very sound of mind to do this job

The main reason this fucking horrendous crime is so big in true crime circles is that Shanann was fairly high up in an MLM (Thrive). Which meant Shanann was constantly, multiple times a day, doing content on Facebook, Facebook lives etc to do her network marketing. Because she was the upline for a lot of people, her reach on Facebook was surprisingly big and a lot of people are a friend of someone in her downline, or a friend of a friend of someone in her downline.
So in the world of housewives on social media, Shanann was someone that thousands of people 'kind of knew' and saw her content occasionally. When she went missing and was killed, for thousands of housewives it was like a real person rather than a rando victim had died. The content she pumped out was not only enormous, a huge amount of it revolved around her domestic life with Bella and Cece. She was so goddamned happy to be a mother. It had been difficult for her to conceive and she was absolutely besotted with her babies.
The Netflix documentary is such a hard watch because it uses so much of that content: Shanann is a very real presence in the documentary, and that makes the brutality of her death extra hard to swallow.
It is very hard to watch all these facebook lives of Bella and Cece and know that Chris Watts strangled them and then dumped their little bodies like trash.
Of course it was Shanann's income that supported the household and paid for the nice house and Chris' truck, which was also part of the reason he wanted her dead. He couldn't afford to leave her.
Absolutely nothing of value will be lost if he gets some prison justice.

Yes, I think this case blew up because right after it happened Chris Watts on the local news and gave the most suspicious interview ever.

“Uhhhh…I hope they come back soon. It’s like really sad and whatever.”

Not really. Albert Pierrepoint was popular and ran a pub. A very ordinary man who was paid by the government to hang people because he inherited the job from his father.

Just turn away officer, pretend you need to do something real quick. Let there be true justice.
I am happy to know Watts is unlikable and deteriorating in prison. I want him to suffer more though.

The audacity to condemn somebody for something you yourself are ok with doing or at least ok with letting happen.
If torture and murder are so cool, then why should people go to prison for it?
This coming from a furfag with a strangulation fetish GIF as his avatar.

He was also a bit of a deadpan snarker.

When he was prepping serial killer John Christie for the gallows, Christie complained that he couldn't scratch his nose, which had an itch.

Pierrepoint simply quipped "It won't bother you for long"
