This is probably gonna piss a lot of people here off because I know people think Boogie is beyond at this point, which is true however I'm curious, what do you hypothetically think a Boogie redemption arc would look like? Let's say something just flips in his head this night and tries to do better and actually improve his life, for real not like one of those fake introspections he's had.
Suicide

Would perception of him not change after say of him having better behaviour, let's say gracefully ending things with Desi, losing weight, putting out better Youtube content and sincerely apologizing for past shit?
This whole thought experiment is dumb because what your basically asking is if a 50 year old would change his entire personality over night. He is lazy and has a victim complex, he will never lose weight and he will never get better at youtube, because in his mind, he is not the problem in those scenarios, its because of dumb reason x, y, z!!!

Boogie will never change, and even if he did start to behave like a human being and produce better content, the market is so saturated and competitive now, why the hell would anyone want to watch mcfatty do literally anything when there are millions of attractive people out there farming content.

Boogie does this thing where he goes, "Oh I'm a piece of shit, I'm a narcissist, I'm the worst person who ever lived, I'm a terrible human being, I'm worthless" like a dog rolling onto its back and pissing all over itself, to make engaging with him beyond pity undignified. He does this so often, and not just for big scandals but for little things too, so I don't think he can redeem himself in a way anyone would take seriously. A sincere apology is probably beyond him, as I don't think he's been sincere ever in his life. He's burned people too many times, any attempt at turning his reputation around is doomed to failure. The crypto thing is really bad. Indian scammers are as a group intensely hated, up there just below pedophiles and animal abusers. It's also made worse that some of the people he scammed this time were his last true fans, the sole remaining people who were giving him the benefit of the doubt and trying to look past his shortcomings, the last few people who had trust in him.
Boogie's name is mud and he'd need several lifetimes of ascetism and charity for people to overlook his past behavior. His internet run is at an end and he needs to delete every online trace of himself, get a job at a hobby shop or a supermarket, and finally deal with the consequences of the gluttonous dopamine chaser life he's been running from for 50 years.

If he kills himself.
If he wants to redeem himself, he'll have to livestream it too, 4k 60 fps is the minimum.

No one is beyond redemption if they truly want it and are willing to put on the effort for it.

Leaving aside the mountains he'd have to move to make it happen, a redemption arc for him would be to get a 9 to 5 job, talk to normal people, disconnect from the Internet and focus on what's left of his health.

The thing about redemption that people don't touch upon is that it also involves living with the consequences of what you've done. Boogie making "good content" wouldn't matter much because his reputation is already tarnished and anyone new to Boogie would quickly conclude that he is full of shit.

Boogie not only has destroyed what he built but he also salted the earth so nothing ever grows in it again. In a weird way, Francis has a future but Boogie is the anchor, up to Francis if he wants to be dragged down and drowned by the dumb persona he created or if he wants to live what's left of his life on greener pastures.

If I was in his situation and wanted a redemption arc, coming to terms with the fact that there is always a chance someone will recognize you and play the clips of him screaming about black cocks or him saying nigger would be devastating. I can totally see why lolcows think they are "too far gone" to ever improve themselves. Must be a terrible feeling and it must be absolutely crushing that you can only blame yourself for it.

Would perception of him not change after say a year of him having better behaviour, let's say gracefully ending things with Desi, losing weight, putting out better Youtube content and sincerely apologizing for past shit?
No, not a year. He's been a total douche on the internet for over a decade. A year wouldn't be nearly long enough to prove lasting change. I think he COULD repair his reputation to continue earning a living on the internet, but he'd have to follow these steps:
  • He'd have to kill himself (this isn't a "die, Boogie" shitpost). The characters Boogie2988 and Francis would have to die (as well as this greasy, shirtless "Faddy Tate" character... ewwww). He would need to make a DETAILED apology without resorting to emotional manipulations. For example, he'd have to own up to the fact that he took this shitcoin promotion deal for the easy 10k and the $100/day to promote it. He wasn't doing it to maliciously scam his audience, because he just didn't think of them at all, due to only caring about the easy 10k. And every excuse after that was manipulation to keep the deal going. He'd have to admit ALL of his flaws, ALL of his embellishments, ALL of his LIES, everything. He'd have to confess that all of his negative self-talk on his channel have also been to manipulate his audience. And then swear to never do them again.
  • He'd have to take control of his financial situation by himself. No more crying about it online. When people ask, he'd need to say something like, "I thank you for your concern, but in the past when I would talk about it, it was to emotionally manipulate my audience in order to get more money. I don't want to be that person any more, so I'm not going to discuss it. But I will say that I am working with (insert generic type of financial professional here), and following their plan to get myself back on track. Again, thank you for your support, and I hope you continue to enjoy my new content". And he'd need to actually follow their advice and not sabotage their efforts. He'd need to sell all of his stupid toys - the arcade1ups, the valuable MTG cards that he's not playing with, and EVERYTHING connected to "Francis" or "Boogie2988". He might even need to get a real job.
  • He'd have to take control of his health by himself, and also not talk about it online. He would need to stop eating his feelings, get real therapy, and go through the discomfort of DOING IT. He doesn't need to give updates, as even his dumbest mouth-breathers can SEE when someone is losing weight. He needs to start a workout routine - even if that's walking laps around his backyard and standing up/sitting down multiple times from a chair to start. When he gets his weight under control, all of his other ailments (even his so called "cancer"), will disappear or at least become far easier to manage. And then he needs to stop being a manbaby and take care of himself, his home, AND HIS PETS.
  • He'd need to break up with megamind, and give the reason that it's for her own good as he is too toxic and manipulative of a person, she deserves far better, and that he needs to become a person worthy of a partner. And then he needs to stop hanging around the after school student pick up zones looking for new girlfriends. He also needs to stop with the sugaring and prostitutes, again citing that he has a shit personality and needs to focus on becoming more human.
  • And the final, most important step is that he needs to WORK, and CREATE CONTENT that his audience will actually want to watch. He could do let's plays, or game reviews, or talk about MTG or whatever. I don't care. He needs to pick something, become knowledgable on it, and provide value to his customers (without mentioning anything about his personal life).
A year wouldn't be nearly enough to do these things. Stats for "long term sobriety" usually count 5 years or more. So if he could do all of these things for that time, improve his situation, and have no "relapses" where he abuses people or manipulates his audience, he *could* change mainstream opinion of him in maybe 4-5 years.

Now, the honest question I have for you, is: Do you think Steven has it in him to do this, knowning the work is harder, no instant gratification, and a lesser payout for the next few years than a quick scam of his audience?

(Disclaimer - I'm not a psychologist or self-help guru; I just play one in my own mind. Take my opinion for what it's worth)

Edited to add: Or maybe he could attempt to do the opposite. He could just lean into what a shit person he is. Be the villian (with no "it was an Andy Kauffman skit" bullshit excuses). Be as gluttonous and disgusting as possible and just go all-in on being a total degenerate scumbag for the shock value of it. He could probably only get away with that for a few years. I mean a candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long, right? But according to him he's at death's door anyway, so what does it matter.

there's typically always a plan you can draft up for someone to turn their life around, and while it may look great on paper, it's never about whether or not the avenue to success exists, but rather whether or not the sacrifices and commitment will be made to succeed. it's common sense that a fat person can lose weight, a drug addict can quit drugs, or in boogie's case, he can shut the fuck up and delete twitter and focus on genuine content (and lose weight) the solution is usually obvious so it never warrants some grand theoretical discussion.

but boogie is allergic to effort. his primary focus is to sink his fat ass in his recliner and browse the mcdonald's app for dollar off coupons. discussing what he could do to change is a waste of effort akin to how much of a waste of oxygen his existence is.

Objectively there is no redemption path for someone as broken as Boogie. He's 50 years old saying and doing this shit.
He'll never budget properly. He'll never work a respectable gig. He'll never be skinny. He'll never date an age appropriate woman.
He will torture the human condition until he's dead. I was gonna write "until he physically can't" but I remembered he has lied while bedbound lol
He is always right and everyone else is wrong. He will fake humility forever. He knows he's wrong and he loves the fact no one can make him stop.

Redemption has been off the table for a while, even with hand holding and really good guidance, he’ll find a way to self sabotage it all, he knows deep down he doesn’t deserve any of it.

However, there are 3 things I’m looking forward to:
1. The money drying up. Once he sees that the end is near financially, we’ll start to see some really good meltdowns.
2. The inevitable health scare. One way or another, I see his health declining as soon as he isn’t mobile anymore, and I think that’s closer than he realizes.
3. Dez leaving him. I understand he has a very strong leash on her mentally, and it may not be anytime soon, but eventually the stress of being with him will get to her as one of these “Family Trips” will result in them getting involved in removing her from the relationship.

1. It won't dry up unless Boogie crosses the line with Keem somehow
2. His health scare will have to be death lol cause right now after everything he's still eating!
3. She won't leave him unless he's beating her which I don't think he physically can. Boogie def prefers inflicting mental pain and she's fucked in the head and wants someone like her own father so Boogie fits

agree

for him to have a redemption arc, first of all, self-awareness would have to kick in big time. I don't see that happen.

His problem is, that most people have woken up to his manipulative tactics. All his "honesty" and embarrassing revelations are in the end calculated and another attempt at evoking pity. His redemption arc would have to make people respect him and respect is earned. After years of manipulative lying it would probably also take years of honesty and sticking to promises.

I don't see that happen. Also, he probably runs pretty well on pity. I said before, I don't buy all his money problems. I'm sure he feels the lack of income, compared to what it was, but I don't buy that he is a few months before being completely broke. And since he is a greedy pig, only out for short-term gratification, he will probably just keep doing what he does now.

... or your entine neighbourhood will go up in flames from the resulting grease fire:
I'd pay to see the Boogdezen pushed into one of those burn piles you see on the side of the interstate. That would be a hell of a 4th of July fireworks show.
Permanently abandoning social media and becoming fully committed to leading a private life. Become more disciplined and learn to . . .
I would add that Boogie would have to devote his life to community service. Picking up trash, helping elderly/disabled people with yard work, volunteering at shelters, etc. Donate all those toys to kids in need. Maybe find a way to repay his disability payments through helping others. Repay all those people he ripped off over the years. A karmic balance kind of thing. Again, this is under the assumption that Boogie has magically changed overnight, and would do this stuff out of genuine kindness.
If hypothetically he decided to stay on Youtube and Lolcow, getting off twitter and instagram, could he turn his youtube career around with effort?
I highly doubt it. Boogie would have to actually become the Mr. Rogers of the Internet, admit his mistakes, and use them as teaching tools in earnest. Explain how lies destroy your credibility and people's trust in you. Show how gluttony negatively impacts your health and life in general. Use actual examples and dive into what he did wrong. None of this "WAAAH WAAAH LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES" bullshit. Those aren't lessons, it's just a bitter man crying out for attention.

Here's my honest opinion on a Boogie redemption arc in the real world: It Will Never Happen. It takes work to change yourself and break habits; Boogie has never been known for his work ethic. Kudos for a thought-provoking question though.

Now, the honest question I have for you, is: Do you think Steven has it in him to do this, knowning the work is harder, no instant gratification, and a lesser payout for the next few years than a quick scam of his audience?
No, but I do think he could at least do something (even if that is nothing like not promoting scams) to "lose less".

He kills himself. I'd forgive him if he did that.

Lardass won’t ever change for the same reason why won’t ever be thin. Like all of his fellow whales, he’s addicted to instant gratification and never thinks longterm.

He knows he’s gonna kick the bucket soon, so he doesn’t care. Scam the few people who still watch him for a measly 10k instead of building up a good reputation that would’ve paid off way more in the long run? Where do I sign up!

No, but I do think he could at least do something (even if that is nothing like not promoting scams) to "lose less".
Then unfortunately, the answer is simply "NO". There is no part way. It all starts in his mind. He is a very sick and demented individual. That sickness has created the gluttonous, lazy, manipulative monster. People are now able to see it for what it is, so he won't be able to mask it from them the way he did before with silly token gestures (again, except when dealing with fellow degenerates, or the chromosomally-challenged 'fans' he has). He either undergoes the difficult internal change (through hard work over time) to not be a piece of shit, or he continues to be a worthless, manipulative POS - and we all know he isn't going to change.

He knows he's wrong and he loves the fact no one can make him stop.
That is probably what goes through his mind when taking these smug selfies, along with thinking about his next meal.
