Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

With Skyline in Hawai'i turning 1 year old this month, the ridership remains dismal, averaging only about 3200 riders/day. Rail mitigating only ~2% of traffic, as well as being WAY far off from just breaking even, makes me wonder how people would still defend it.
It’s just missing a connection to the city, airport, parking, mainland, moon, kiwifarms.

Once those are added and it’s moved to New York it will be super popular and successful and have a girlfriend in Canada.

It appears u/jaxsonthefurry the kid who put sugar in his dad's gas tank has deleted his Reddit account.

You can identify urbanists if they have a helmet, the pads, the sports clothes, if their bike looks expensive, and how slow they go on purpose. In my red state we have bicyclists but they always are riding some thrift store piece of shit. You only bike for one reason, and that's because your car broke down and you are in a bad situation where you can't afford to repair it now. They see you coming and they are quick to get out of the way. In the closest big city the story is the same, you've got poor people on bikes who get out of your way. We don't have too many urbanists there but you can identify them on how they want so hard to let everyone know how expensive their bike is and they have that trademark slow as shit riding style as they hog the lane. The poor people on bikes have shit to do so they go as fast as they can.

When you happen to hear them talk all they ever say is how they literally designed their entire life around the 15 min city. It's so cringe. They always were happy living away from the city but they went online and got trained into getting their heads up their smug liberal asses, so they spent years transitioning to find some shitty meme useless progressive city job and then had to carefully plan where to live as they throw away 90% of their income to rent so that a supermarket is within walking distance or they pay out the ass to get everything delivered... Someone points out that this would mean that the drivers would have to walk across an active bike lane:

It's a trick question though, they wouldn't be dodging cyclists because the bike lanes are always empty.

If cars can overtake the delivery van, why can't bikes:

Imagine if cyclists were as violent as drivers:

They used to, until you lot lobbied to turn them into bike lanes:

What exactly did they think would happen after they got rid of all street parking and loading zones because "public space shouldn't be used to store private things"?

More support for violence and vandalism:

You know bud, having reliable transport to and from work is a critical part of any job. Might I suggest a vehicle of some sort?

Do we have a link for that sugar thing :story:

Here you go.

I really really hope to see Jaxson go whining to Josh to pull these screencaps down. Hey Jaxson, make sure you tell Josh you're a fat broke porn-brained furry when you write to him. He'll give you all the respect and dignity you deserve.

I want to point out a sort of irony to this. When cyclists do illegal things (riding on the sidewalk, running stop signs, etc) they defend it by saying "it's because we're forced to".

However when they convert street side parking into a bike lane they're literally responsible for taking a system that worked and making it not work when it comes to deliveries.

With the same logic it could be said, if you can't ride your bike without breaking the law you shouldn't be riding one. This dumbass doesn't realize the argument to make deliveries safer is to get rid of bike lanes.

How many of these cyclists have built their bike from scratch and not used any parts that were delivered to their house or the bike shop. I mean mining the coal for the forge, etc.

What's that you say? None of them?
Surely these bike parts that came all the way from China were transported on solar powered cargo ships and delivered across the country using cargo bikes.

I think I found the next urbanist that's being astroturfed. His name is Phil Edwards, and he was a former writer at Vox that left the company due to how much of a disaster that company is, so he wants to cash in on the urbanism trend.

I notice it's one of the leftist lite things you can do on youtube because they feel it's not as heavy handed as having to talk about whitey (although they're not shy to bring it up) or other more controversial topics. It's just in vogue, but will be forgotten once the next thing comes up.

“If there is no other option” for routine deliveries, there is a glaring problem with the infrastructure.
The Redditard who wrote this doesn't even realize that he's right, just not in the way he thinks he does. A parking lane being removed for a bike lane is a "glaring problem with the infrastructure".

Unsurprisingly, until around 2012-2013 (Google Maps link) it was indeed a lane for parking/delivery. Infrastructure problem indeed.

Why do suburbs exist?
Because in the 50s strategic planners realized that the best defence against nuclear Armageddon is to spread your population out from the main targets of industry and infrastructure.
Why are they inaccessible for anyone without a car? This is why suburbs exist in more or less basically every western country.
Because niggers were killing white people like it was going out of style in the late
60s to early 80s so whites built these new residential zones as Mottes and Baileys to defend themselves, and niggers are poor so they really can't afford cars. This is why american suburbs are designed and built the way they are.

Any more questions?
