I mean, if I told my mother that I suddenly received $10,000 “just because” she’d be freaking out. What did you need that much for, was I sure it wasn’t a loan or scam, what about taxes, etc. I really want to hope at least some words were exchanged before it ended up away from Staph’s mitts. They’re enablers, but Staph has bitched about the rare times they actually try to parent her by framing it as abusive.

I would hope that similar is the fate of the tugboat. Many tugboat recipients have family members become representative payees for them because they are like Staph and are susceptible to scams or blowing so much money on dumb crap that they can’t even afford their $13 rent. If she’s allowed unrestricted access to her SSI but not a different $10,000 windfall, then shit’s really fucked.

Stephanie has degenerated from someone in college, living independently, who finished internships and a (shitty) Master's degree, but like the mini-Amanda Baggs she is, it's not that her "medical condition" worsened. She's not even going hard for munchie prizes like GI tubes, or ginning up legacy media attention like Baggs did to show off her degeneration.

Stephanie Cianfriglia got older, fatter and lazier. She's being taken down by inertia.

It coincides with her no longer working. I genuinely believe people are better off having some form of job. It gives you a purpose, a schedule, connection to people outside of your immediate circle. In the absence of that, people when left to their own devices usually regress. In Staph's case I think that her low is just... levels below most people.

Water seeks its own level. She has surrounded herself with teenagers and other failures to launch, which has further normalized the lifestyle she has chosen for herself. She's created a self-fulfilling prophecy of being too disabled to work or live a more fulfilling life than the one she has.

I would love to hear what Stephanie's parents think about their family situation.

Why would twitter have "improved" or changed in any way since she "left" five minutes ago? She hasn't apparently updated her feed at all, followed or unfollowed certain types of accounts, or changed any of her habits. Last I checked, people are still people.
