Jimmy isn't just a bad person he's also a dangerous person. He legitimately does not know wrong from right and invents his own reality to explain away his own violence like with the mallet incident in season 2. Jon who is clearly significantly less intelligent then Jimmy understands when something is wong and when something is wight. Jimmy does not. Jimmy could beat the fuck out of his own grandpa then invent in his mind some imaginary reason for why he had to do it.

Mostly because its easy enough to withdraw from a vast majority of society, people like Jimmy often have one or two close outsiders who are pretty similar in behaviour if they have anyone at all. in this case Jimmy has hoarderman but beyond that it's not really much else.
His job is sitting and watching a boiler and making sure it doesn't explode. He works the night shift, and I assume the only reason he's able to maintain the job is because he doesn't interact with anyone.

Jimmy is a violent, psychotic freak and should be either locked up or institutionalized. He is a legitimate danger to the people around him and should be taken off the show immediately.
This is the crux of it, really. He is a danger to himself, but more importantly, he is a danger to the public at large. I don't see any way that his story doesn't end with a murder-suicide unless he's locked up for the good of society.

Jimmy's identity is based on his trauma and desire for revenge and he's probably confused that nobody else cares about their past as much as he does about his. I can 100% believe that the Mormons mindraped him and turned him into a basket case, but I can also believe that he's a legitimate nutjob and he blows up any perceived slight into abuse. I think Sam actually likes Letty a lot more than he does with other females, not in a relationship or attraction way but just doesn't cringe away from her as much as he does with others. I think this is mostly due to her being quite quick witted with her responses a lot like he is.
