Landline polling is rarely, if ever, done in Europe anymore. We don't use landlines as much, especially in large cities like Paris and London, because we have to move so often, and a landline just feels too permanent. Polling is mainly done through the internet, via email and just straight up knocking on people's houses.

There are no lessons for the US to learn from Europe because it is different. Kier Starmer getting in is less about moving left, but more about getting rid of the Tories. The left alliance in France is not about moving left, but about carefully managed standing-down of candidates in certain seats. Which doesn't happen in the US because it's a fucking two party system.

We are taught about the landline fiasco as something that would not happen in modern Europe, and blindly applying US political thought to European - fuck, even UK political thought, is stupid, fat and retarded.
