I think Biden demanded muted mics because he thought Trump talking over others at previous debates was something Trump couldn't control because he is a big dumb idiot who can't help it. I think this is one of the things that was supposed to get Trump to back down from having the debate or to be hopelessly flustered and lose. Turns out Trump talked over other people because he could get away with it and it was a power play but he is actually capable of shutting his mouth at times. I think Biden is stuck in his old impression and can't move on because he is an angry, humiliated, befuddled old man trying to make desperate excuses to himself.
Probably shouldn't have forced Trump to live in court for weeks before the debate instead of campaigning because it gave him shutting up practice.

Trump countered the whole muted mics issue by just using his question time to respond to Biden. He probably wouldn't be able to get away with it in another debate but for that one in particular things went really well for him.

Update: The Washington comPost comments section is still a salt mine that keeps on giving. There’s a lovely mix of leftist despondence over Biden’s chances (they’ve pretty much given up on him), anger at Biden’s staff team/family/the DNC at large, ticket suggestions (saw a “Harris/Cheney 2024”), with a few retards in denial (who lash out at the author of the Biden-critical article for daring to report that things aren’t peachy) peppered in for good measure. It’s all pretty redundant, so I don’t have any screenshots…

I remember Rush Limbaugh saying this back in the 90s, saying that the Ds (but be fair, it can just as easily apply to the Rs) weren't interested in solving problems because then they wouldn't have the problems to blame the Rs for. The idea being that people are less likely to remember successes and more likely to remember the other guys' obstruction.
(Limbaugh also said that feminism was created in order to give ugly women access to the mainstream lol)
