It's crazy to me that Cody genuinely sees himself as an authority on which games are or are not hard. He's constantly out there blabbering about how Dark Souls isn't actually hard, yet I just watched him get his ass handed to him at the beginning of Doom 2016 on stream.

I'd bet my asshole virginity that Harman actually LIKES having a thread here. Never have I seen a more obvious rage baiter and attention whore.

While he has other reasons for hating this site, the fact that he does have a thread about him does also bother him, as he's proven himself to give more fucks than he'd like people to think he does. Multiple times he's gotten upset on camera, even during his regular uploads. If he truly enjoyed even the negative attention, he'd be more responsive but less sensitive. The individuals he's most frequently and strongly reacted to have been people who've mocked him for his incompetency. Considering that he consistently got his shit stomped in his most recent stream in Smash Bros against a player who randomly selected characters, it's only a matter of time till people start calling him the Fatter DSP. Coincidentally, Harman has a tendency to rapidly swap between games, and the vast majority of them tend to have a playtime of between 2-4 hours. While that might be a fair amount of time for a large library, this is someone who's intentionally limiting himself due to his Nintendo fanboyism, at least apparently on camera, as he's been caught with a copy of the Ghosts of Tsushima PC port.

To add onto what I've posted, the majority of Cody's content is hate content, and while he refuses to explain anything or provide examples, he has this powerful need to have people perceive things in certain ways and for existing perceptions to change. He attempts to put on a "I don't give a fuck" persona at times, he's routinely failed and has not dedicated himself to the bit long enough to even begin to convince anyone. He is a Last Man who desperately wishes he were an Ubermensch. His goals are ultimately to establish a Nintendo fandom who aggressively stamps out non-Nintendo enjoyment of anything, while also working to demonize and ostracize people for other interests such as sports, tabletop gaming, especially tabletop RPGs, and pretty much anything that doesn't have Mario's face on it. Other demographics by measure of existing are also to be meddled with, such as LGBT, especially lesbians (As I am writing this post, he has just uploaded yet another video in which he condemns Little Goody Two Shoes, which I admittedly know nothing about, on the grounds of supposedly promoting lesbianism and trying to impress unto the audience the notion that lesbians are normal), and other races in general.

His investment in hating on these things and people is too much to think that he's grateful for any kind of attention. He is attention-starved, but he wants approval more than anything else and hating on everything that doesn't involve Nintendo is just part of his ultimate wish to change how the pie of approval is distributed to the world. Nintendo is his safety blanket and thus the mere existence of Non-Nintendo is an existential crime against him. He can't handle people liking other products because it gives him the feeling of beign picked last in a kickball game, as though each choice player before him is a criticism against his very being. Every demographic has their flaws, LGBT and blacks and so on included, but I do think a genujine, poor, and sour bigotry is to be had when one believes that Cody Lee is a worthy confidant for any discourse about any pattern of issues or flaws. For all we know, he could be racist simply because black people want to be Goku more than they want to be whichever Nintendo character.

In short, "You hate the wrong things and like the wrong things" is one of the strongest themes omnipresent in a Cody Lee video. The only thing stopping him from shedding tears and going on a stomping temper tantrum every single video is because for all his retardation and impotent fury, he's not as low-functioning as a certain Electric Hedgehog's father-mother. He's spent too much time on /v/ to avoid realizing that you can win an argument simply by appearing smugger than the people disagreeing with you.

The attempted resemblance is at least a little uncanny. It's either sheer coincidence that he looks like this or some Soyjak variant in his thumbnails, or he deliberately selects the smuggest frame of himself he can find to use for his videos.

Cody Inman "Harman Smith" Lee, if nothing else, is only the -Chu in Sohichu. He may not have a medallion, but he has a Mario hat and leather jacket to wear whenever the occasion arises.

Oh no Stellar Blade has failed as it only sold around a million copies, and look a few seconds in he is already saying it has been "Shilled" for. Hmmm yeah a million copies, you know what else has sold around 1 million copies and came out a month earlier? Princess Peach Showtime!

Geez it took less then a minute of research to notice that, they have a whole road map planned out for the game, and even potentially getting DLC for an "Already complete package" or a sequel. I wonder what our Gorrila's logic here is?
Here is some of the excuses I can imagine.

"Oh well it cost a lot more then Princess Peach Showtime" Yes it probably did, but it also was sold at a much higher price too, and has sold roughly the same amount of copies.

Umm yes they do, in this year alone they have had Persona 3 Reload, FF7 Rebirth, Alone in the Dark, Helldivers II, Tekken 8, Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, Dragon's Dogma 2, Rise of the Ronin, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth etc. On top of Stellar Blade. So yeah I don't think Sony players are starved of content.

"This game was for people trying to push an agenda" No it really wasn't I heard nothing of the sort, the only thing I heard about Stellar Blade and controvesy was the whole "Urr Eva is too attractive" bs, and also don't you find it ironic that he is claiming this is a game that is trying to push an agenda. Yet all he ever does is push his way of thinking like it is the only word that is right. Take a look at his channel recently a stream called "Nintendo Switch gaming is better then Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree", a community post calling "Elden Ring fanboys are extremely insecure." Yeah the only insecure one is you Harman, you have been whining about Elden Ring for 2 years, and it got worse with the DLC.

Umm first's things first Nier Automata is an amazing game, maybe stop playing it on the switch at less then 30fps and then you will see how good it is. Two being an action game, with a female lead, doesn't make you a rip off of Bayonetta. You can argue Bayonetta is a rip off of Ninja Gaiden or DMC. But no they are just games in the same genre. Thirdly, the director has stated that Nier Automata was an inspirtation for the game, that isn't ripping it off, but then again Harman is dumb enough to think that anything that is inspired by something else, is clearly just a rip off. See Pizza Tower as he claims it ripped off Wario Land. Though the description clearly states it was inspired by it.

Got to love this ignorance of this fool, it has nothing to do with if people can afford it. It is the quality of the game and if they are worth it. Especially with this year of games, let's look at the games that have come out thus far, that are exclusive to the switch.

Another Code Recollection (A remake of two games from the DS and Wii era respectively. Granted this is an actual remake, with new beats and controls, as well as altered story especially in R Journey into lost memories. Sadly though they are very niche.)
Mario vs DK (A GBA remaster, with very little content to make it stand out).
Princess Peach Showtime (A very basic game for kids, which is less then 6 hours long).
Endless Ocean (A very boring ocean deep sea diving simulator, with little to nothing in terms of content).
Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door (A remake of a gamecube game, whilst it has a few new QOL improvements and some new bosses, it also runs at half the framerate, and is more or less a one for one remake of the gamecube classic).
Luigi's Mansion 2 HD (A HD PORT of the 3DS game, with no new content at all, and data miners even found code of streetpass still in the game. They were so lazy that they didn't even take out the code of a feature that isn't even used in the switch).

Out of all of these only Another Code as a remake feels different enough from it's og counterpart, PPS and EO are the only NEW games, and they are very basic games that should have been budget titles at best.

All of these games released at 60 dollars, and the vast majority should have been budget titles. Luigi's Mansion 2 has no reason to be the same price as a new game. Especially as the 3DS version is very easy to find and is around 40 dollars cheaper second hand. Mario vs DK can be emulated easily as the GBA version and you have more or less the same experience. PPS is okay as a new game, but it isn't for people above a certain age bracket. Endless Ocean is a joke. PM TTYD is an okay remake, but it should have been 50 dollars really. As for AC well maybe this one is under 60 dollars, but it was around that price when it came out, and it really should have been a 40 dollar or 50 dollar game, due to it's niche nature.

So no I don't think it is fair to charge 60 dollars for a bunch of remakes and budget titles that last less then 6 hours (In Peach's case that last remark). But this is a problem with gaming in general, everything has been inflated up, and the quality has gone down, this is the case with everyone. But with Nintendo it is even more outrageous.
I live in the UK, Shin Megami Tenshin V Vengence came out over here, on every console the game costs 55 pounds around 70 dollars. However, the Switch version decided it didn't want to be 55 pounds it wanted to be 60 pounds, which is 76 dollars! WHY IS THE SWITCH VERSION MORE EXPENSIVE!? The Switch is a weaker system, which doesn't run the game as well. Yet it is the most expensive one, this also happened with P5 Tactica when it launched too. Nintendo games are also more expensive second hand too, games like Shadow the Hedgehog for the PS2 is around 8 pounds, yet on Gamecube it is 30!
Nintendo tax has been a thing for years, and it is getting worse and worse as time goes on. Take that Lego Deku Tree set, it is 250 pounds or 300 dollary doos. We are paying for the license not the product. And Nintendo damn well knows it, it's disgusting.

He doesn't work 12 hours a week, even if he worked an 8 hour job. He thinks his book writing counts as a job, yet it is a hobby as he is probably making 2 cents a book at best. And yeah despite him claiming that YT isn't a real job, he probably secretly counts towards it, though his videos are so low quality, with no editing or thought put into them.

Oh yeah I also will add onto my previous post about the 60 dollar game thing. I love at the end of the video he goes, "Nintendo should be charging full price for games and making money." Funny as most people who own the games already, especially with DKCR as it will be the 4TH time it has released when the switch version comes out next year, and LM2 which came out on a console where it sold more then half the Switch's userbase. These people like myself are not going to buy them, maybe I would at a discounted price, at say 30 dollars. Then more people may be willing to buy more copies of it. Thus they would make more money. I'm not going to take the word of a man that thinks there is a worldwide/industry to down play Nintendo and that retailers are lying to the NPD to help support an anti-nintendo agenda.

The math simply doesn't math. He streams too often and for too long and makes too many videos to work 12 hours a day for 5-7 days a week. The more likely outcome is he is counting streaming/book writing/ video making along with a part time job. It takes reasonably intense emotional and personal discipline to work 60 plus hours per week. He lives less than half an hour away from a city wherein the population is mostly white and the average person making at least 30k a year. Cody has multiple times mentioned including his book writing as part of his job or one of his jobs, and has complained about the negative opinions his coworkers have of him. He doesn't seem invested in proving to anyone that he has a job, or speaking much about it other than expressing that he wishes he could make a living solely from book sales.

About his defense for Nintendo releasing games at whichever price, one should be aware about how people perceive the value of the dollar. Given that Cody has displayed zero interest in anything other than Tennis, whatever college degree he was working at, and video games, with an extreme preference towards Nintendo, whatever income he's ever received or made has had no value but that relative to Nintendo's pricing decisions. As his standards of living are equivalent to a NEET's, his budget for Nintendo is lavish while otherwise living as ascetically and frugally as possible. his wallet opens like a hole you'd find between a pair of legs when it comes to Nintendo products, and remains so capable as Cody maintains job security. Thus he can live as though he were a Nurglite in poverty, yet also alike a wealthy emperor as his television screen regularly outputs a blonde swordsman's"HYAH"s or Italian man's "LETSAGO!"s. You can only truly be too poor for Nintendo if you're too poor to live at all. For Cody, the reverse is also true: if you are too poor for Nintendo, then you are truly too poor to live.

Well it is that and probably to go. "Look how rich I am, unlike those pretendo's that can't afford remasters"! He is really really trying to have a go at people who just don't want to buy two lazy remasters. He is trying to say Luigi's Mansion 2 is a success simply because it is number 1 on his eshop. The ability to selectively engage with people on the internet is what enables him to make videos and streams. If people could compel him to speak outside his own exclusive terms, he would never raise his eyes from the dirt. As a commentary youtuber, his scripts boil down to some adlbbing mixed in with his repetitive template script of "Who cares? The elephant in the room is that nobody cares. The reality is, I think we're seeing the beginning of the end of the narrative of downplaying Nintendo, when in reality Elden Ring Palworld Baldur's Gate 3 Fromslop Armored Core 6 Geoff Keighley The Game Awards and are coping and seething about their games falling off. Like "OH! Non-Nintendo games are good! OH! Nintendo games are bad!" We need to start acknowledging and condemning fromslop Fromslop Baldur's Gate 3 being damage controlled and creating the illusion that these games were ever good."

One thing to remember about Cody is that he opens up a little about his past while ranting about other people wanting to not empty their wallets for Nintendo rereleases. "Perfectly happy saving up my meager allowance, you know, avoiding it having stolen by my uh..." , followed by a literal handwave. "My uh' what, Cody? Your parents when they realized you were interested only in Nintendroning? Your brothers for being bigger and stronger than you? Anyone else for the same reasons? In addition to his upcoming American Evil novel being about the evils of Libertarianism (Nick Rekieta), his recent video about Lord of the Rings shows that he considers Harry Potter and Narnia (Mostly Harry Potter) to be superior literary and cultural to Lord of the Rings, and is proud to derive his inspiration from Rowling, anime, and Nintendo games. It's rather curious that Cody likes Harry Potter so much considering that Rowling is a full on feminist, and that he loathes things like Dungeons and Dragons for reasons that amount to "The religious community was right about D&D" (Though he also never addresses their scrutiny against Pokemon, among other things.). Exactly how religious or spiritual is Cody, anyways?

It features two additional autists who have positioned themselves in opposition to our lolcow. One is Videogamelover58, or VGL for short (mentioned before), and the other is Jacob Schooner (a relatively unknown character in the Cody-adjacent sphere).

Additionally, it features Harman "explaining" why he hates PlayStation and all the "trauma" connected to his love for Nintendo. It even has Harman claiming he played God of War 2018 on his girlfriend's PS4.

All in all, it is quite an entertaining watch/listen, barring the fact that you will likely have developed slight pain in the frontal lobe area by the time you're done. I don't want to spoil the rest as I've already said plenty so I'm just going to leave the link here for those of you who are less familiar with Cody's body of work.

Cody displays alot of common autistic traits that have pointed out already including:

Scripting - he repeats alot of words and phrases to the point of self-parody such as "downplayed" , "the narrative", "simply isn't true" "_____ is on the way out" ending every or most sentence with "alright". His videos are so predictable you can literally make your own harman smith video just plug in some Cody phrases and your ready to go.

Black and white thinking - you can't like Nintendo and something else. It's Nintendo or nothing. There is never a "this game isn't for me" or " agree to disagree" . Everything Nintendo is amazing and everything that isn't is trash; or at least trash in comparison to Nintendo.

Obsessions: goes without saying but making quite literally dozens of videos about elden ring and how awful it is isn't productive behavior. It is rumination to the point of obsession. Nothing new is being said. No new ground is covered. It is the same shit over and over again.

I don't want to spoil the rest as I've already said plenty so I'm just going to leave the link here for those of you who are less familiar with Cody's body of work.

A lot of the video is just noise with how much VGL and Schooner wanted to jump the gun on trying to dunk on or shout over Cody. I remember VGL being someone who very much is a Playstaiton fanboy, to the extent that he used to have a video defending Sony during the Helldivers 2 PSN controversy and insulting the PC playerbase until someone convinced him otherwise. Against someone with less bias and more self-control, at least enough to remain composed and not try to react with dfisapproving exasperation to everything he says, Cody would have a hard time making himself look good to the audience. Cody is clearly mutually bothered, which is probably why he never voice chats with anyone, He's actually lucky that it never occurred to anyone arguing with him that they should actually press him on any of his talking points or rationale or check him for consistency. The most I got from this is that Harman's Nitnendo fanboyism is, according to himself, just retaliation against other people for talking shit or treating him like shit in the past. VGL and Schooner could've very much instead just made reaction videos to Cody like most other people have, given the substance of what they wanted to say to him.

In which Cody argues talking points utterly redundant to his own base opinions and stances on the TGAs, which is that unless an awards event is a Nintendo circlejerk, it is not only not worth watching nor discussing, but it is also guaranteed to be rigged, even reminding us that even the Mario movie should be receiving awards (Of course, by virtue of being a Nintendo product). Of course, it's not enough pain in Cody's heart that the TGAs aren't a mass-inhalation of Nitnendo's boots, but that the possibility of a Fromsoft game winning anything (again) risks confounding him into a gelatinous lard flux, that like we've seen during last year's TGAs. As for the second video, Cody puts on a more emotional face, testing the durability of his chair as he throws his body weight onto it with more fervor than usual. Here, Cody argues that if the prices for any remakes and rereleases were any lower, it'll lead to Nintendo charging even more for their brand new titles, while also putting forth the notion that Nintendo is somehow more affordable than other platforms, despite the fact that only the Switch's base price proves this, with the lack of sales and price drops for everything else Nintendo generally stacking up to make the Switch a prohibitively expensive platform to continuously purcahse for, yet prides himself on looking down on anyone who thinks or is unable to purchase Nintendo games. As I mentioned before, according to him, if you're too poor for Nitnendo, then you're too poor to live. In addition to this, Cody posits that people be content with remakes and rereleases that are nothing more than slightly prettier ports to the Switch.

The sin of pride on full display: The self-damning expression of "Don't like it? Don't buy it!" and Harman Smith's brief daydreaming of the pleasures received from both attack dogging for Nintendo and gatekeeping out the undesirables with wallets thinner than his own waistline. To him, if you have EVER played on any non-Nintendo platforms, especially not PC, you'd NEVER develop the desire for a cheaper rerelease or remake of Nintendo games, as you would have instead played the original games on their original platforms, utterly ignoring the possibility that people who've never played the original versions but also want Nintendo to sell their games for more reasonable prices exist. Of course, the people complaining about the prices are just part of an anti-Nintendo conspiracy group. Same goes for anyone who pirates or emulates Nintendo games, and they in particular should be imprisoned and even executed for their crimes. Executed for the crime of thinking that Luigi's Mansion 2 probably shouldn't release with a 60 dollar price tag.

Last and Least, Cody argues that many franchises and IPs ought to made Public Domain. Why? Because they're too progressive for his tastes, and because everything sucks, apparently, including Star Wars, Warhammer, and Lord of the Rings. He tries to argue that this will allow people with creative merit to shine as they freely use whichever intellectual property they desire, but we all know he thinks he can outwrite everyone else and wants to be allowed to peddle his AI art, while Nintendo of course maintains a permanent grip on copyright laws.

It's been stated multiple times here and elsewhere, but Cody just wants to gatekeep and bully people through Nintendo consumption and loyalty.

In here, Cody displays that he values characters and works solely based on face value feats and power levels. The quality of a character is how unbeatable they are in a fight and nothing else. While I'm not as well-read on literature as a sizeable portion of the population, I wonder what drives Cody to think like a battle shounen debate kid towards literature that isn't trying to win the audience over with super kaboom death spells. While it'd be impossible for me to correctly summarize either Middle Earth's events or the Wizarding World's in proper order or accuracy, it can at least be understood easily and quickly that Harry Potter, while dealing with ambitious forces of evil, is generally scaled within proximity to a magic school and a few key locations nearby it or existing between the realm of the fantastic and mundane. The Lord of the Ring's overall story and conflict however took hero and villain alike across most of Middle Earth.

Cody's claims of Dumbledore's superiority to Gandalf, at least for the majority of the video, mostly measure up to being criticisms of Gandalf rather than declarations of Albus' own merits. While ignoring that Tolkein took his time with figuring out how to continue the world of Middle Earth after the Hobbit, Cody asserts that Gandalf is a bumbling fool for having taken the amount of time (Which, to be fair, is about half a century) he has to discern that Gollum's ring is The One Ring, despite the fact that countless and timeless artifacts of all shapes and sizes have been crafted throughout the history of Arda, and that he has very few people to confide in for knowledge of ancient magic paraphernalia, and only himself as Saruman decides to conspire for power and Radagast's interests and specializations being territory that Gandalf himself doesn't cover, the animals and plants of the world.

Simultaneously, Cody draws upon the average HP wizard's capacity for magic, and claims that even Hogwarts' students have a huge gap above Gandalf's own magic, While the WW is flashier when it comes to its displays of magic, and there exists enough information to create a wiki with, its magic system is less a system and more a medium for audience appeal. After all, Harry Potter is a children's novel series selling itself on the idea of a school that's fun to learn in. While magic is a medium for the fantastic elements in Lord of the Rings, it only exists to faciliate some elements and a few basic rules whch justify and form the core of the journey, not to establish a pecking order or web of who-can-kill who. For all the fancy things you can do in Hogwarts, Rowling has admitted that a few guys with guns would be able to do very serious damage. The Wizarding World exists more as a unique minority culture that although answered only to its own specific government (Or the UK Ministry of Magic), it wasn't separate from the Muggle World out of superiority but sheer difference. For all the wizards had, they lacked in a similar measure. Ron's dad for instance obsessed over basic electricity and fooled around with automobiles like a geek born a century ago. Certainly several wizards would shit themselves to death if they discovered the internet or had a chance to play a video game like Halo or Stellaris.

Meanwhile, we can't really say the same about Gandalf, whose hobbies included making fireworks that'd outlawed in Mexico. Cody cites Gandalf's inability to melt snow, but ignores, forgets, or omits the fact that Gandalf's fire magic involves ignition, not spontaneous comhbustion, and the distinction between the two is probably a sign of greater intelligence for one who can sarcastically complain to Legolas about what he can and cannot set magically set on fire. Plus when Legolas later fires an arrow at Gandalf-As-Saruman, the projectile melts mid-flight without harming anyone. Most importantly of all, Gandalf's being a wizard is merely a physical form of limitations imposed upon him for the sake of Middle Earth's preservation, and so the War for the Ring can be won by mortal people, and not the reliance upon potent, earth-shattering deity-figures. All Gandalf was meant to do was advise his friends along the way, allowed only to match his immediate foe. It's why his blasting at the goblins in The Hobbit were mostly unimportant kills or mass stunnings, he can do as much as he wants and help as much as he wants so long as he avoid being credited as the reason for victory. Cody also claims that Gandalf was more or less sitting around with his thumbs up his ass, but such claims only hold weight insofar as Tolkien's lack of planning for LOTR after having just completed The Hobbit, but established that the unmet Necromancer was in fact Sauron in the earliest stages of remanifesting himself in Middle Earth, and that he and other wizards drove him away, at least to Mordor. at the time.

Returning to the claim of Gandalf's foolishness, Cody brings up that Gandalf could've easily and on the spot tested if Gollum';s Ring was The One Ring, or even inferred that it was The One Ring to begin with, but he again forgets that Gandalf had to decades of research into a subject few knew, and even his exposition heavily suggests that he went through a great ordeal just to learn about everything he informs to Frodo. As for Saruman, Cody's idea of Saruman being blatantly evil seems to be a result of him seeing the films rather than reading any amount of the book, as Saruman was not only an extremely long time friend of the other wizards, but was good with his words, schemed with much careful discretion, and played a very long game, even taking advantage of Radagast to lure in Gandalf. Saruman is also Gandalf's superior prior to his betrayal, and thus Gandalf went to him as a mentor figure. I guess however, Cody's hindsight prevents any alibis or justifications from forming.

In contrast, Cody refuses to fault Dumbledore for his inabilty or lack of knowledge in how to permanently dispose of Voldemort, even though Dumbledore has an entire community of wizards with rapid messaging systems (albeit not as rapid as the telegram or telephone) and even more rapid transportation (Floo Networks, various forms of flight and the riskier Apparate spell) being present, and knowing that everyone, including Voldemore, operated within the confines of the United Kingdom. Gandalf however had to find and learn everything he could and did by searching across all of Middle Earth, almost enitrely on his own and with mostly speculation from others. Also, to my understanding, while Dumbeldore has planned a lot and prepared himself and Harry for Voldemort's return, a heavy amount of speculation of varying accuracy is made, and the plan does end up being such that Snape, who sees too much of his bully James in Harry, chastises Albus for raising Harry "Like a pig for slaughter", which is a detail that I'd imagine Cody would pick up on and use as a massive criticizing point if he hated Harry Potter. Since he is, we can instead however assume that Cody sees no risk nor flaw in Dumbledore's planning, if his repeated and vague "Dumbledore was on the ball" statements are any indication. I only know that things involved preventing the Philosopher's Stone from being used, learning about the horcruxes, then destroying the horcruxes, and something about Harry sacrificing himself.

Regardless of comparisons, there exists one surefire way to tell which wizard is superior: Get Gandalf or Dumbledore to explain to us how Cody can be a fan of one of the most feminist authors out there. While many leftist idiots like to forget that Rowling has ever had an opinion on anything besides trannies, Harman isn't dimwitted enough to prove that Rowling's TERF status alone is enough to preserve his love for her books. Like with video games he has to be willfully ignorant.
