From the way it sounds regarding the domestic violence charge, it's going to be a judged trial without a jury, hence adjudication. They pushed it out so far because the drugs charge is the more serious of the two and likely wanna see how that goes.
 
Assuming his hearing on the 11th isn't a shit flinging monkey knife fight, he could potentially bail out before September, right?

I know he wouldn't be allowed to cohabitate with whoever he attacked. Assuming it was bossmAndrew, I think Bossmom would put him out before Austin. Ratdad is too much of a pussy to put his foot down so not much stopping that from happening. Unless a really serious change of heart occurred because of his arrest.

They have a review hearing scheduled for the day after his drug case arraignment. This is likely to decide if he'll be offered a bail. The two cases are in different "wings" of the local court system, so both have to agree to bail. I'm guessing if he's offered bail in the drug case he will also be offered bail in the DV case. He could get out on bail, but he wouldn't be allowed to have contact with his victim who lives at his house so that makes things sticky.

Virginia is also a state that charges you at a state level for any domestic violence charge, meaning that if the cops are called for DV someone has to go to jail regardless of if fault can be proven. This makes the charges fairly easy to beat if someone within his household advocates for him. If his dad/brother were to state that it was a big ol' nothing and that it was a mistake to get LEO involved he will likely get an extremely reduced sentence or possibly the charges dropped completely.

He may be able to get a jury trial fairly quickly because it's constitutional to have a peered trial if he tries to fight the charges. My concern is the drug charges. They likely have his crack pipe/paraphernalia, who knows what else, and weed/pills/etc. He likely will not beat those charges because his domicile was searched and there's physical documented evidence. Keep it mind that it's State Vs. so he can't really claim it wasn't his, plus there's a plethora of confirmation on the internet about him that will likely get used by the prosecutor. Any competent lawyer, however, can claim that texts/names/etc are faked and will likely get that removed from evidence; but a jury will hear/see this and could be swayed.

It ain't looking good for our lad.

BMJ was broke as a joke. We're talking about a make-shift tin foil pipe and MAYBE a half a gram of crack. He didn't have an 8-ball or even a gram. It's extremely minor, local governments haven't been too eager/willing to lock people up for a long time over minor drug possession even with suspended time over their head.

He should be able to bail out this Thursday at the earliest. I’m 50/50 if he’d get bailed out.
1. It’s probably best that he’s in a time out away from crack and gamba and can’t fuel his dopamine addiction. BUT
2. Bossmom drives him to pick up crack so I don’t think she’ll act in his best interest.

Crack really doesn't have many withdrawal repercussions like opioids or alcohol, he's probably going to come out a better man with a better outlook on life. Psychologically he's probably in mental hell right now.

I want to see him pull a 180º however I will miss the degeneracy. I'm on the fence.

He's been addicted to substances since he was a teenager. He caught a felony and a 5 year sentence trying to feed a drug addiction. The only reason he got a suspended sentence is because he was a middle class white teen. The only things he's know for 10+ years are addictions and enablers. His gamba addiction goes back years to OSRS. Austin has the arrested development of a teenager combined with multiple substance and gambling addiction. This notion that a couple months to get sober will change him is laughable. He doesn't want to change. He's said it himself. He has no sense of self beyond being a criminal, loser, and addict. He has no healthy coping mechanisms, no friends, no skills to navigate sobriety.

Austin is a multiyear project with relapses along the way if he ever sincerely tries to get sober.
