>Talks about how embarrassing the first Gladiator wasHonestly I didnt like the first Gladiator beyond the visuals. The plot was obnoxiously melodramatic anne frankly badly structured, the characters were barely more than cardboard cutouts with only a few rising to two dimensional, the acting was either tired or hammy, the dialogue was downright embarrassing most of the time, and any affection I had for the soundtrack has long since faded as it was whored out for literally thousands of documentaries or trailers for decades. Finding out it was near universally held as a masterpiece has never ceased to confuse me.
Not me. Not you. Not anyone except Ridley Scott's bank manager.Who was this movie made for?
The superbowl trailer on the other handCompare and contrast this trailer to that of the first movie.
Of course a black guy is somehow in a leading position in ANCIENT ROME!Looks like they are using hip hop music like they are in Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Ridley Scott's bank account.Who was this movie made for?
So after a Dragon was killed a Jogger became Ursuper and then was defeated by a distant relative of Tiber Septim and Severus Snape.View attachment 6171865
I hope this guy will be represented.
Ridley Scott's worked with Denzel before on Man on Fire and American Gangster. It doesn't hurt if you, an actor, get a call from your friend, a well-known director, for a role in a sequel to one of his most respected films. Denzel probably didn't need to audition; he'll need to be at this place at this time to read lines. Leave the salary negotiations to his agent, and... boom; you're in the movie.Denzel always delivers a good performance but why him?
This. Denzel’s probably in that phase of his career, he’s so rich and accomplished that he doesn’t give a fuck anymore.Ridley Scott's worked with Denzel before on Man on Fire and American Gangster. So they got a slave from Africa? Did Rome do that? His role in this film is supposed to be a former slave-turned-arms dealer/power broker who runs the gladiators.
No idea. Not sure this is feasible, especially with Denzel’s lack of dialect. So they got a slave from Africa? Did Rome do that?
So what's the break-even? $700M at least?Just let it sink in that this movie’s budget is $310 million.
Presumably bought from a third party, assuming he wasn't the result of an Ethiopian in the woodpile or a free man who signed on with a provincial ludus for the chance at fame and fortune. So they got a slave from Africa? Did Rome do that?
It's literally just Oliver Reed's character again. What's the betting that they don't even mention thr Republic being restored at the end of the last movie? His role in this film is supposed to be a former slave-turned-arms dealer/power broker who runs the gladiators.
