This is for the real banned books, not the ones on drag queens to read to elementary schoolers. A place to find, read, digest, and discuss things using twenty-twenty historical hindsight when reading them with a modern mind. I do not care how "based" you are, there is no substitute for the words written before us.

Whether history would like to admit it or not, the world has not always been politically correct. Thus, when looking at historical timelines one should read the text as it was and throw out all modern sensibility. History should be preserved no matter what it says and no matter what ideas it pushes forward.

I would like to collect a small database here for banned books of all kinds be they racist, sexist, anti-semitic, anti-religion, homophobic, sexual, gruesome etc. link to archives where you can and pdfs where you cannot.

The Camp of the Saints made me physically ill. Scarily on target, especially considering it was written in 1973. Buying a copy is almost impossible at this point, at least in English, though I think finding scanned copies is not that hard.

Submission: A Novel by Michel Houellebecq is more literate but less racist, if also equally depressing.

Skip gibberish like The Myth of the 20th Century, The Passing of the Great Race or Imperium unless you have a serious masochistic streak. Trust me on this.

Not the same nor banned to my knowledge but discredited. Thomas S. Szasz's work goes against most if not all modern psychology and how it ties more into law than medicine. Hes also had some good talks on the subject as well. All links direct to InternetArchive

His main thesis is that most mental illness aside from schizo or any real genetic or neurological condition is caused by problems with living rather than any genuine mental illness.

This is actually a very interesting video that shows how Nabakov in his book Lolita was critiquing the pedophilia in Hollywood by referencing Shirley Temple movies. This was another banned book but it's ironic that it wasn't as critiqued as these movies were that clearly sexualized children archive

It's gross tbh they call her things like "cradlebait" and had "baby burlesque". To think Nabakov had a best seller and a banned book for basically making fun of these tropes
