Parents and school officials in Newark, New Jersey are furious after a suggestive video advertising a women’s basketball tournament at a local high school circulated online.

The “Nuttin But Azz” Baddies Basketball tournament was supposed to take place on July 21 at West Side High School in Newark, NJ. An ad for the event showed ticket priced ranging from $50 for General Admission to $500 for floor seats to watch teams competing for a $10,000 prize. But the tournament has since been canceled after representatives of the school learned the women would be playing the game in thongs – that’s right, thongs.

According to school board Communications Director Nancy J. Deering, district officials didn’t know the details until the controversial video was discovered online. But as soon as they learned, they wasted no time distancing themselves from the event.

“This was supposed to be a community basketball event sponsored by Councilman Kelly. No school or district official approved the activity depicted in the video or knew that an event at one of our schools would include such activity,” Deering told NJ.com

For his part, West Ward Councilman Dupré ‘Doitall’ Kelly is covering his tracks, calling the video “absolutely horrible” and claiming his office had nothing to do with creating the content.
‘As a councilman and as a father, I would never allow this type of content to be filmed in any of our schools, and I don’t agree or promote it in any way,’ he told TAPintoNewark.

Big Fendi, the event’s organizer, recently issued an apology to the city of Newark, school officials, parents and other members of the community who may have been offended.

“We were doing an event and then, you know, things went a little left, and out of control, and I take full responsibility for that, cause you guys had no knowledge of what these girls would be wearing in this celebrity game,” he said in a June 19 Instagram post.

Wait, who was playing this game - the schoolgirls? Or adults? Even America is not allowing schoolchildren to play basketball in thongs surely? this is depraved
I was going to say most of these girls had shitty tattoos all over so they were adults but I remembered its $current_year
