Any speculation on Nick's children is based on Nick's actions, an active CPS case, public court documents or those being leaked, Nick's discussion of his kids since the arrest, Null's questioning on MATI, a larger Internet discussion, and an estimated 30-50% (more?) of the posts ITT in the past five weeks.

The active discussions from the above parties and ITT - daily and frequently - include:

• The positive test: How did she test so high? Was she dosed? Was the test accurate? Do they retest? Did the other kids know? Did she know? Was it from the following: 2-3 nights Nick had a family medical emergency, dosing for treatment of her ADHD, some residue the cop had on his hands, Aaron dosing her? Did the teenagers bring in the coke?
  
  
• Visitation: When does Nick see his kids? Where are the kids residing? Are the kids being re-interviewed and observed (yes)? Does Nick even want the kids back? When will he get the kids back? When they're back, when will he have legal custody (the State can keep custody beyond their return)? Which grandparents are more fit to have them? Are they designated foster parents?
  
  
• The cases: Can the State use disclosures from Nick/Kayla regarding the kids in the criminal case? Why is there a 6-7 day gap between the pastor's report and the search? Is that delay a problem for the search or the CPS case? Did the pastor report the neglect of the kids to cops and to CPS? What did the community know about the kids and the Rekieta's lifestyle?
  
  
• The Sweepers: Shaming of the following ITT - Should the kids have been taking care of themselves? Can 6 yos bathe themselves (no)? Isn't it easy to put a Hot Pocket in the microwave? The kids initially said they knew nothing about the drugs.

It is notable, based on yesterday's disclosure, that two of the kids are listed as having (additional?) interviews in the State's evidence. If that is "weird", to note then more than half the posters who have considered the issues of the kids (listed above) are just as "weird". The kids are central to this story, sadly.

I am a mother. Of course I am most concerned for the kids, though one need not be a parent to be horrified and actively questioning what the fuck is going on. This thread does it on the daily.

I would expect he is going to be reasonably busy with all three cases (or five if you add in Kayla) in the next few weeks. I would imagine the CPS thing would be happening soon. Then the omnibus hearing for the criminal stuff is after that and somewhere in the middle of all that he will need to cooperate with discovery in the defamation case.
