I think getting at least a handful of screenshots of famous stuff would be good. Research sucks, as you know, because finding old posts is really hard by nature of the platform and backholing. I think my old phone has a bunch of old stuff on it. I'll see about putting some stuff together.
Another interesting thing about iFunny is that the actually quality "deep" community is really tiny compared to most social media sites. Even the biggest accounts will have like at most 10K+ subs and a bunch of those are either inactive or bots. Most really good posts that get shared around a lot will only get like a few thousand likes.
It reminds me of the real life phenomenon where small islands will develop really niche and weird organisms that are unique to the rest of the world.
Does anybody know internet trends that originated on iFunny? I mentioned scrollsposting earlier. I know people talk about the "doge renaissance" as being an iFunny thing too.
